Meat Obeying the voices in your head?

The reverse question is, why does sometimes you know for a fact that you have heard God but it doesn't turn out the way you thought it would turn out? I know that most are going to say that, in this case, you must not have heard correctly or it came from the wrong source. But it does happen and it makes it even harder to know for sure. I know it happens because even though I thought I heard from God and it didn't turn out the way I expected, I still receive a blessing through the pain.

If other people are involved, it’s generally because other people are involved.
Let me unpack that.
Sometimes He shows us what His plan is, but because of the decisions of others, and sometimes ourselves, His plan doesn’t go as He intended.
The most famous example of this is Yah telling Moses that he will lead the children of Israel into the promised land. But Moses and the generation that he lead out of Egypt didn’t receive the promise.
Had Yah lied to them? No, they fouled it up.

I agree that spirits are real, but I’m not sure that I understand what you are saying here. Can you explain what you mean by, the voices in your head is based off spirits?
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

An example of thots (voices in your head) being spiritually invoked. For Good.

Would you be able to point me to what you are specifically referring to in John?

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. note

8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Again, I’m not sure what you mean by this. The scripture says that we were once dead in trespasses and sins, but we have been made alive in Christ. But, there are clearly examples of God speaking to people who were unbelievers (which would mean they were still spiritually dead, right?) and yet they were able to hear and communicate with God. What does that mean, “only spirit can communicate with spirit”?
It means exactly that. While animals have souls they do not have spirits. Therefore they cannot communicate with spirits. But spirits can possess and claim a vessel with a soul. Example, swine that plunged into the sea.
I agree, I believe that the spiritual realm is as real if not more so than this realm.

I might quibble with you slightly there, by saying that I think atonement for sin was Jesus’ number one ministry and casting out demons and healing people was primarily to show people that he was The Messiah. But, He definitely did a lot of miracles and casting out of demons.

1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
I would submit that the casting out of demons was not for show but was part of the actual Saviour ( mission) (calling) complex.
I reread the quote again and the word slightly jumped out at me. But maybe some of these references will at least point in the direction some of my thots were going on this issue. Cheers to deeper studying.
P.S.
It appears some of the Scripture reference is in part of your quote. I thot I had figured out how to do the bulletin quotes. I was wrong....
