Church Authority (aka pastor) part of the headship?

I come from a background where church authority is considered part of the headship. If you resist it you are considered rebellious and dealt with according. Even if the resistance is based on admitted scriptural error.
That's where they believe it becomes a salvation issue. What is bound on Earth is bound in heaven....

I’m curious if you still think this way or not? Because honestly that’s a terrible misunderstanding of scripture... is this what you are trying to parse through right now?

Not sure I understand what you mean? Bias is coming from the KJV translators? If so I agree... and the kjv definitely influenced most other English translations...

Yes. Part of the story behind the KJV was that King Jimmy was separating from the RCC and establishing the official church of England. To that end he wanted to retain the hierarchy so instructed the translators to retain the clergy/church bias even where the text didn’t support it as in the body vrs building church definitions and single bishop models.

I recommend as a starter on this topic the book Pagan Christianity. (We discussed this during the men's session at last year's summer gathering in Tennessee, right, @Verifyveritas76?) The current belief that we're all supposed to go to church and be led around by pastors is based on numerous purposeful and inadvertent mistranslations of the original manuscripts. Clyde Pilkington has written extensively on this topic, as well (www.studyshelf.com).
