Be fruitful and multiply...a general command ?

some parts of the medical community are starting to learn that there is, in fact, a Law Of Unintended Consequences.
when man, in all of his wisdom, starts messing with the way we were created and intended to operate things can go wrong
women who got abortions, which is billed as a harmless procedure, are finding a much higher incidence of cancer
womem who bore children w/out breastfeeding are having a much higher rate of breast cancer
men who had vasectomys are having more health problems
we cannot always impose our will on His creation with impunity, our doctors do not have the full understanding that they would lead us to believe that they have. trust them at your peril

Using birth control pills and using anabolic steroids are both messing with hormones in your body. Only steroids are illegal more often than birth control pills. FEMINISTS HELP TEACH WOMAN TO DESTROY THEIR OWN BODIES.

I think you'll find the first people to push birth control were eugenists.

Hmmm... Using sugar, and caffeine, and most fats mess with hormones in our bodies. Dr Pepper M&Ms, and Donuts teach computer programmers to destroy our own bodies! :o

Here are some interesting videos about Margaret Sanger and planned parenthood and targeting African Americans.

This fourth video below might be biased it is about how youtube censored videos in which planned parenthood employees took money donations designated to give specifically African Americans abortions.

Let's not turn this thread into a debate over birth control. Besides that issue rests with the head of the family and that person's conscience.

It was not a post for that particular topic per se.

The original post was a question about the proper interpretation of two OT texts.

The original post was a question about the proper interpretation of two OT texts.

You can not say people are too have children based on the Ge 1:28 because it might or might not only apply to Adam.

However I already listed several texts that appear to apply to a much larger group of people that could be used to say that married people should have children.

1 timothy 5:14 Either applies to young widows under 60 or all young women (See NIV vs. KJV)
1 Timothy 2:15 Do saved women generally have an intrinsic attitude of not wanting to have children somehow connected with salvation?
Malachi 2:15 How can you produce the godly offspring God wants without having children?
Psalm 127:3-5 Will married people miss out on a blessing, reward and heritage if they intentionally have less sons?

How can a debate about if married people choose to have children or zero children, not be about birth control.

If married people do not use birth control they generally have children (I will not go into details)

Unmarried people should not be having children while they are unmarried so I think this question is only relevant to married people. Unless you think marriage should be mandatory in order to have children, again this would mean there must be some time people do not use birth control for them to have more than zero children.

So I think this question is intrinsically about birth control.

The issue of birth control is a secondary one.

The OP is about the requirement to be fruitful and multiply, and whether or not it applies to all men (perhaps all of mankind to include women).

If the woman does not sin by remaining an unmarried virgin, how could such a command apply to her?
If it is okay for a man not marry under any circumstances how could such a command be universal?

These exceptions fail to prove the rule because there is no special exemption made from God, just a general one.

God Bless,

Robert
