Trouble Ahead

I think we currently grow around 30% of our food, but probably lose a third of it to waste (so maybe 20% of our diet). I also think I can improve production through greater intensity of production. With the current garden, and more effort, we might be able to grow close to half our food. We also have enough lawn remaining that I could at least double the size of my garden if needed. I might be able to hit 100% if necessary (assuming I still have sufficient inputs including irrigation water and fertilizer).

I need more farmland

That's just considering my wife and I. What about my parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, friends, and neighbors?

Rough times ahead
Good times ahead too.

Let's try to trust and not complain when or if we eat less then we are accustomed to, or get less variety. Fish and bread were multiplied.....but it doesn't say anything about butter, or tarter sauce....or salad. ;)

Fasting is healthy!!

My recent meditation (often while canning food for tomorrows) give us this day our daily bread.

I also remind myself that thankfulness is important. In a gimme world where there is always something else to go for or want. ....so important to say thank you and be at peace in the knowledge that He is, and rules, and purposes good for His creation.

Well said! For the people that belong to Jesus, God is working all things together for our good.

Well said! 'I've never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread;' and again, 'seek first God's kingdom and His righteousness and these things *will* be added to you,' etc.

The Lord is well-aware of our needs, and has promised to provide for them even when the world seems to be turning upside down. That doesn't mean that things will be easy nor that Christians cannot suffer terribly between now and the resurrection of the just.

Yet, our Father in heaven has nonetheless sworn to provide for His children all that they need to support this body and life, apart from any worthiness or merit of our own.

You guys should check out my friend's podcast. He curses occasionally so it's often not child friendly. And I think he's taken to cursing a lot more as of late. But he has upwards of 300,000 listeners daily, if the majority are infrequent listeners, could be a 1,000,000+ audience. Stellar information on the show.

Bro,
I've been listening to Jack Spirko for over a decade. I think he had just gotten out of the Jetta at the time I started (maybe episode 130 or so).

I use to listen to him all the time. The last couple years I've only listened occasionally.

Jack (and his expert council) has probably been my biggest influence in terms of prepping, and homesteading.

I learned about flouride in the drinking water from Jack. I learned about Berkey water filters from him. I got into reloading because of him. I learned about the Federal Reserve and the fractional reserve banking system from him. He got me into silver. He got me into long term food storage. He taught me about the paleo and keto diets. He got me into taking Selenium. Though I knew about Permaculture before TSP, Jack taught me tons about it.

Jack (and Chris Martinson from Peak Prosperity who ai learned about through TSP) helped me quickly realize that Fauci and the CDC were totally wrong on Covid.

Jack introduced me to libertarianism and anarchy (which I don't endorse).

Jack is one of the patriarchs of modern survivalism and modern homesteading. Old school classic 👍

There is a lot more to curse about lately. I'm sure Jack is very frustrated by the insane stupidity of global leaders. They are doing literally everything wrong.

I love TSP and Jack.

I disagree with him in terms of ultimate reality. Jack seems to be a Deist. I'm a believer in the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Also, I think anarchy and libertarianism are kinda utopian fantasies.

Still, we can all learn a lot from Jack. Super smart guy.

Cool! So you've probably heard me on there a couple times. He's definitely a Deist. We've spent many a long night discussing my defense for the hope I have. He keeps asking, so I keep praying and hoping he will soften enough to bow to the Most High. Not holding my breath though.

The Holy Spirit blows where He will. Your job is to share the Good News in an accurate and loving manner. I hope and pray that God will grant saving faith to Jack. If Jack is one of Christ's sheep, he will eventually hear the voice of his Master. Some people take a while. I'm glad to hear that you have been able to share with him.

I really do appreciate Jack and TSP. I've learned a Ton from him.
