The Return of the Duke! The movie John Wayne should have made... So glad to have you.
lol, Very true. It'll be good to get back together with everyone. It's been too long for me/us.

It's been awhile for me and I can't wait to get to see everyone again. Been too long. Won't be staying at the retreat though. Family has a place right up the road. Still be there for all the activities though.
I must say the fact that @The Duke Of Marshall will be there might almost be sufficient incentive for me to buy the plane tickets to be there too, was international travel along that route not still in a mess due to the covid cult. Great to see you'll be back, enjoy the retreat!

It would be awesome to have you there brother! Unfortunately times are the way they are. Not much fun in a global traveling sense. Although, if you start swimming now, you may make it before show time. ;)

For those of you coming to retreat, it's time to really start praying - we are feeling the pre-retreat attack already (that is a thing, this is far from the first time). In our house everybody except Julie has been sick recently - Nita and I and Joshua had it worst, but we are mostly over that. But my parents (their own in-law apartment in our house) have COVID for the first time, and my dad ended up in hospital yesterday (they are both 90). He's doing a little better and may come home in day or 2, but it's hard to say what the 1 or 2 week situation will be like, and it's possible one of us would need to stay here for them. We're praying they are much better by then. Now today Jan Higgins has tested positive - and she's living in close quarters with Mariechen, and they are all intending to come. (Ron working out of state right now.) Pray for a quick recovery for them.

Please pray for everyone attending, esp. the new folks, that there would not be circumstances coming up that would block them from attending. We know the fellowship and support and prayer can make a difference for families that the enemy would like to leave on their own and vulnerable. We know he tries to keep people away. Even if you can't attend this time can you please help us pray that nothing: health, family/friend interference, finances, could be used to stop folks from making it.

We also have one other now-plural family that is not on the forum, that is waiting for a visa to be finalized, supposed to be any day, so that they can all make it. Pray for that visa. (Some of you have met some of this family.)

Our rooms are basically full, let's pray that there are not subtractions.

A little bit of resistance just makes me all the more determined to see this through, and make it meaningful. It does feel like this one may 'matter more'.

Thanks for praying, and please feel free to add your circumstances that might be pushing back against you coming, so that we can all be apart, and help if we can, with more than prayer. (i.e. nobody is to stay home because of gas money!)

The kitchen keeper said she thinks we only have one. I’ll check later this evening

By the way, Kristin won't be coming to the retreat. She's upset about it, but her extended family's annual crab feast in Maryland got scheduled for the exact same weekend shortly after this retreat was finalized. She and all our children are flying up there from separate locations.

Tell her that I will miss her. 😊

I am so excited familia!!! I am planning on making some gluten friendly desserts, not gluten free entirely. Trying to get a rough idea of how many are looking for gluten friendly options?
Gluten-schmuten.
If it looks good, I will fight for it. 😊

Us three adults have been sick for about 1 week now, fighting off some viral thing as well! He is faithful though!
