This is how 95% votes for Assad looks likes from previous elections
I'm certain Alawites and Christians don't have any reason to celebrate.

By the way, current Syria Leader (whatever official title is) has CV which contains service in Al-Qaeda. Nothing to celebrate in such case.

Off course, it's possible he has left his evil ways, but call me sceptic.

Anyway, some American Christian did some noticing: destruction of Christian communities is usual consequnce of US Empire interventions.

Christians don't have any reason to celebrate.
This favouritism that created resentment against religious minorities was a deliberate move by state officials, Majed said.

"This puts Christians in a situation where they need the regime even more, to protect them from people who might begin to resent them," he said.

"Feeding this animosity then allows them [the government] to portray themselves as 'saviours' of minorities facing bitterness from the Sunni majority, while giving the Christians the illusion of a preference for them."

So they can expect Muslims favourable laws which will disadvantage Christians more than Assad could favour them.

And remember, for now, victors will be in spotlight which means incentives for good behaviour disappear after Easter.

In multiethic/multireligious states you don't "democratic" elections. What you get is which group will be put in power and use power to benefit themselves. In such situation people don't vote for what they consider right or advantageus to themselves (as in classical european democracy), but what favours their ethnic/religious group.

Regarding Syria,

Be advised that Arabs have most incestuous marriage pattern. Prefered marriage is between two first cousins, both from father's side.

I don't remember explanation enough, but end result are children with two parents and two grandparents.

Cousing marriage is highway to clan society. Society where everything in your life is determinated how good you with rest of clan. So expect all forms of cousin favouring.

West is special since much of our life is determinated by friends, not cousins. Westerns have to develop social skills, colaboration and similar just not to be loser in life. It also favor openess and acceptance of others since you have to have friends.

In clan society, cousins have to accept you and you them. No need to develop friendship skills when you live in village with 500 cousins. Other living differently? Free to judge, you don't need them.

By the way, Chinese society was also clan based. Horewer, bride was coming from mother's side. Daughter of sister of your mother. So they had to learn how to accept at least one other family.

Arabs prefer doing everything inside one family. Literally.

Expect heavy issues with tolerance.

So even if new rulers put some token minority in government, their culture favors government where everyone is cousin of everyone else.

It seemed incongruent to me that a girl did a school shooting.
Yeah, it is coming out that it was actually a he that thought he could be a she.

Edit; Other stories coming out are that she actually is a she.
Just an extremely feminized she.
