What word can I then use to explain a woman who has a lot of sex with different men see is not married to out of her own free will on a regular basis? Or is it better if I pretend such women do not exist at all? Or perhaps say that they are not doing anything bad, but merely spending a lot of time being ungood.

How about "vertically challenged" ???

You all are giving me a good giggle! Ornery... the whole lot of you! ;)

Dear DTT, bless your heart, I agree with your logic. Truly I do, and I understood what you were saying with your original statement and understand that you meant to show us the odd reversal of this culture's values.

You may use the word "whore" when speaking of prostitutes on the streets as long as you speak it with the intention of distinguishing their profession and not their character. Do you understand? It is like the term "b**ch". It may be used to reference a female dog. But if you use it in conjunction with my character then I would be just a wee bit upset. You may be thinking it, but out of respect you do not speak it unless you want to lose some teeth. Do you understand DTT? For goodness sakes... I hope that you understand.

Maybe we could use the word "Prostitute" and "Harlot" when we talk about that profession and leave the w word out of it altogether. Yes it is a biblically acceptible term but it also has very negative modern day meanings, which could serve to offend some women, especially those (myself included) who have had that word hurled at them in anger. After a while it stings.

DTT, while I understand your motive, I would ask you to refrain from that word. The fact is that you have offended at least a couple of us. If you want people to read your posts, and you know that certain things offend people it only makes sense to take the word that offends out of your writing. Changing people's personal perception of a word like that is going to be very difficult, so it is easier and more scriptural to change yourself.

I meant to discuss their character. Their character, results in their choice of profession. Some people do not choose their profession if they are perhaps slaves held at gunpoint etc, in which case their profession might be less of a reflection of their character.

But I think porno star women for playboy choose their profession, and when it is chosen without mitigating circumstances such as being threatened with firearms it is a reflection of their character.

What you are doing is kind of telling me like saying we can call drug dealing, bank robbing, people kidnapping, people murdering, raping gansters, thugs as long as we are talking about their profession but not their character. Usually the two go together.

How is the term "harlot" any better to be called than the word "whore"

It just does, you are not a woman, trust us.

DTT

I think it is clear to me why you are still single.

DTT used the word in its proper context. It is an acceptable word to use for such things. The word was never used to insult any of the women on this forum, or any readers, or anyone at all. It was meant as a description. It IS a proper description. This man called sin sin. That is wrong by this culture, but RIGHT by God. But what response does he get?

It was not said as an insult. It was not said to hurt. It was simply truth. Why insult him? He did nothing wrong. Leave him be.

Let me put this in another light.

As the attractive football player was escorted out by guards to serve his ten year sentence for raping a young girl, he stated incredulously, "She was just a whore." The young woman's mother wept.

Or perhaps the police officer who shuts the file on case of the middle aged woman who is missing... "She was just a whore." Her children waited for her return.

Do I need to go on gentleman? The women that you speak of, the "whores", who bare the bodies so that men can tack their images on dorm room walls and stuff them under millions of mattresses across the nation, are the precious daughters of fathers whose baby girls made a mistake. They are not prostitutes... and even if they were, I am a mother. I would sell my body before I would let my children go hungry! Judge them if you must but you had better make sure that you don't have any skeletons your closets boys!

Are familiar with the song "Amazing Grace"? As you think to write one more defense of your foul word... sing those lyrics to yourself gentlemen. Is it because of your righteousness that you are saved? I certainly cannot claim that. Can you?

I am done discussing this topic.

I will be praying for you.
