Meat Mystery behind 1 Corinthians 7:36-37 (virgin, daughter, betrothed or what?)

Wouldn't it be easier to say "Your own daughter" rather than "a woman and her daughter"? You often want a tight definition so that what I am asking. The verbiage leaves open that a woman's daughter is not necessarily your own kin. I could side with you in principle and practice but the wording leaves ambiguity whereas other relationships are crystal clear. I am altogether in favor of the bias in interpretation.

I have been trying to get a solid understanding on that as well.

I agree but I don't find in Lev 18 the prohibition of fathers with daughters. Please show me. I am absolutely against that incestuous practice but why is it not defined?
A man can not marry a woman and her daughter....or granddaughter.

It's kind of impossible to have a legitimate daughter without being married to the mother, yes?
So maybe it says her daughter because step daughters are also off limits with the man in the role of father to such.

It is a bit odd. One point is that the term being used is "uncover the nakedness", and if you take that purely literally, it is impossible to live with a young daughter and not see her naked - even be the one who "uncovered" her (for a bath, change of nappy etc). But it is possible to avoid seeing all the more distant relatives naked, even as children. If it said not to uncover the nakedness of your daughter, that would give a great excuse for every lazy dad in the world to not help with the babies.

Also, "uncover the nakedness" when applied to every other relationship mentioned is the best literal way to understand the line of prohibited contact - this isn't only prohibiting penetrative sex, rather if you have to take her clothes off, don't do it. There isn't any leeway for "but we weren't technically having sex...".

So that puts the father-daughter relationship in a very unique position. It's a relationship where, at least up to a certain age, the father will necessarily "uncover the nakedness" of his daughter, yet must refrain from sexual contact with her.

This doesn't fully explain the lack of more direct language in scripture about it, but I think helps to explain why this is dealt with differently to other relationships.

What? That’s ridiculous. It specifically forbids blood relations and a woman and her daughter is larger group that includes daughters and step daughters.

It is literally impossible to sleep with your daughter and not have slept with her mother. How much more clear do you need it to be?

My FLDS acquaintances use passages like this to justify marriage to their father. It would be nice to be able to articulate it to them without using the law given through moses.
There are vast swaths of moral law that can’t be articulated outside of Sinai.

What if step daughter is 20 and lives outside house?

There is no parenting role here.

It says "Thou shalt not.....a mother and her daghter or her daughter's daughter"

Ask yourself what if....and what that means.
In Bible days it meant ALL PARTIES were STONED!
