I might be confused. My understanding is that all these "people" are listed as existing in a database somewhere and having a social security number.You might want to check the meaning of the word “recipients”.
I don't know if that means that all of them are necessarily being paid. I don't think it does.
I imagine there might be millions of non existent people receiving social security payments, but it probably isn't anywhere near 60 million.
The Social Security Administration is probably paying out hundreds of billions of dollars of fraudulent payments each year, not the trillions of dollars that the linked Twitter post suggests.
I know the Twitter/X post says "recipients", but I don't know if the poster is correct. I have no idea who this guy is.
If Trump or Musk tell me there are 60 million fake social security beneficiaries then I'll probably believe it.
