I believe that some need to check their feelings on Israel. Israel is God's chosen people no matter how some feel about it. Israel is not the aggressor and has a right to defend herself from terrorist groups or countries as well as the US does. Israel is not the aggressor but the victim. There are many Arabs that live peaceably within the boarders of Israel. When you have countries or terrorist groups that hate you and want to wipe you off the face of the map, there is not much of a choice or a response that Israel has.

What our president is doing is totally wrong. He is putting us on the wrong side of the battle. All of the middle eastern countries are in chaos right now. There are new leaders in some and riots in others. They are all beginning to form an alliance against Israel and Christians with one goal in mind. We need to be there to help Israel or we will be next. Egypt and its new leaders are already killing off the Christians.

The way our president is going, we will be giving the southwestern United States back to Mexico. Wake up people!!!!!!

Amen, Driver!

Having lived, ministered and travelled in the middle east for three years, perhaps my experience can bring some perspective. And, being raised as a protestant Gentile, then getting saved, and finding out that I was of Jewish ancestry while I was in theological school might help, too.

Saddam was all about perpetuating holocaust, and did so to his own people. I have interviewed and published the tale of a Kurd who survived the Halabja gassing, and it is sobering. Saddam also said that there are "three things that should not be allowed to exist, Jews, Persians and flies." At Halabja he went after the Persians, and the Jews were next. If the Coalition had not made a surgical strike in Desert Storm, the planes loaded with Sarin I, Sarin II and Tulun would have attacked Israel, irrespective of the loss to the Iraqi Air Force That was his plan, and it is well documented.

I stood in front of the ovens at Dachau the first day of Hanukkah, 2006, which also happened to be the first day of Ahmedinijad's FIRST conference on whether or not the Holocaust had actually happened. To say that it was surreal and horrifying is an understatement. Upon returning to Darmstadt and then travelling to Frankfurt, I was out on the streets during a Christmas festival with an American Army Colonel and his wife, and a man began nearly foaming at the mouth about "Juden" and how they should be killed. Kinda put a damper on the festivities and was a grim reminder that we're gearing up for the zillioneth attempt on their lives.

My mother was in Germany in 1937 as a tourist, and told me how creepy it was to see fellow teenagers who had gotten caught in the trap of Hitler Youth spouting off this stuff.

These people are serious, and the same maniacal rhetoric re: Jews that was fulminant in the '30s and '40s is back with a vengeance. As Benjamin Netanyahu recently said so eloquently before Congress, "we need to take them seriously."

I watched the people of Iraq shed their blood to form a nation, and if anyone, including Israel, were to surround them and threaten annihilation, I would hope Americans would sound an alarm due to the fact that no nation should have to face ethnic cleansing with the intent of extinction. God hates the shedding of innocent blood, no matter from which nation it flows.

I believe the book of Romans makes it clear that God is not finished with Israel by any stretch, and just as there are Muslims having dreams and visions of Isa (Jesus) and becoming born again without standard evangelical contact, the same is happening in Israel. Yeshua the Messiah is on the move, and so is the enemy who has always hated the people who gave us our Redeemer. Thank God we know who is going to win, and may we have the guts as did Bonhoeffer, the ten Booms, and others to stand with courage for Him and the humans He created irrespective of the cost.
