I have been pushing anti-marriage certificate issues with Christians in general. Few are open to the idea, but I'm getting there.

I have been pushing the same with gay friends who want to push for their "rights". When I explain that fighting against getting "permission" i.e. a "license" to marry would give them far more freedom than getting the law changed in their favor, they are far more interested in what I have to say.

Christians, unfortunately, think that by restricting marriage to certain groups of people protects them somehow. What they don't realize is that it also opens the door for government to create more laws in regards to marriage, and eventually child bearing instead of protecting it.

Did you know that the legal age of marriage used to be much younger in China, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and India, until "Christian" Westerners invaded and pushed their "christian beliefs" about magical numbers that are not found in the Bible on them. Also there is something even more ironic I could say about Japan but that would definitely get this locked.

Entirely unsurprising to me. It used to be younger here, too, until we decided to pick an age. I think to a point you can still get married younger with parental consent, but I don't know as much about that.

There are three ages

1. Without Parental Consent

2. With parental consent

3. With parental consent and a judges approval

But 3 will never happen unless the man is irresponsible enough to.......

It is a bad method when young and irresponsible men get rewarded for irresponsibility, but older financially stable responsible men are punished.

Of course it is hard to have young financially stable men, with child labor laws, which are also bad in my opinion.

It would be good to actually find out what the marriage laws are, and if they actually apply to you or have jurisdiction over you. There are many laws (all of them if you ask me) that simply do not apply to an organic, flesh and blood man or woman. In fact, even the federal government admits that over half of its "codes" have not been enacted into positive law and only rule you if you consent to them and their punishments, including the income tax laws in Title 26.

Even if a law is enacted, it has to have an implementing regulation or it has no force against you. You cannot be guilty of something unless you have violated the implementing regulation for that code, and not the law by itself.

I think that the real issue is that we as believers should not care or concern ourselves with working toward political solutions to bigamy or polygamy laws, because any marriage law or code has nothing to do with us, including marriage certificates and anything else to do with asking permission or license to do something that God commanded us to do anyway.
