Creator knew that

As I was catching up on some threads here just now, I came to one mentioning that vow of monogamy taken by so many in ignorance.

The natural reaction is "if only I had known what I know now, back then!!!" I have had this moment numerous times on many topics as I navigate through life's changes and discoveries.

Today, a thought for those who are in a phase of frustration over this issue. Yes, it is an awful place to be: you want to be honorable, you want to preserve your marriage, you want to work through or around this, and you cannot help feeling "if only I had known this before".

Take heart. Creator knew. He saw your ignorance. He knew the origin of the thinking that generated that wording. He knew it works counter to his goals. He knew you would discover this all after saying "I do". And here we are.

So believing that he is never dumb enough to allow a challenge or trial that he cannot leverage to bring extraordinary benefit through, trust him. He has the answers. If you and all involved will trust him and seek his will, his solution will bring good beyond the ordinary. Because he saw ths coming. He is ready when the time is right.

I’m not understanding your solution.
So just wait and do nothing and He will work it out?

I concur.... The OP sounded positive. Had me confused though on what Yah's solution was for those in that quandary...
I'm hoping for the best with the Nike philosophy; Just do it! It's easier to ask for forgiveness than get approval. ;)

I'm thankful I never did the usual vow stuff, but wrote my own vows. I thank God for His providential hand in directing me through that minefield and avoiding all the hassles.

So I met with Victor in the Men's group chat a few weeks back. Sadly, his FW left him when she discovered his new knowledge of PM, and he now has remarried. Still losing a FW can be difficult, and we all hope and pray for the best to work out in that scenario.

I havent been on here in a few days, or checked my email...

I was more offering perspective than a solution. In a sense, I doubt that our Maker takes unscriptural vows (as this, which violates his intent in at least some lives) as seriously as legitimate ones. Yet vows are serious. I believe this issue should be navigated with prayer and patience on a case by case basis. But I disagree that wife's willingness to release you from this vow should make you feel free to proceed. I say that because while you made this vow to her in ignorance, you made it before witnesses and Almighty. You want to address those each sufficiently to not just preserve your marriage if possible, but also lay a good foundation for blessing in the future.
In my case, I realized that headship was the real issue. But before I managed to become head of the family (at all times, not just when agreement was coincidental), I was invited to become scarce by my wife and children united against my convictions.

If your FW were to return to you, I would hope you still remain married to Kandy.
