January 20th 2025 - Donald Trump is BACK!

I don’t think that the difficulties in Iran were all that unexpected.
It is all a process to weaken the regime until the other 95% can step up and take their country back.
Issue is that by bombing regime Trump is risking "rallying around flag" effect which will cause more people to support regime.

I don’t know who you are getting your information from, but that’s pretty much the opposite of what is happening.

It’s working.
FAFO, they are in the process of finding out right now.
He gave them enough rope to hang themselves.

We’ll see. I’ve been bullish on this campaign and I truly believe that engaging with Iran wasn’t with the sole purpose of regime change or even nuclear disarmament. I believe it was multifaceted to include exposing Russia, China, NATO and reorder the petroleum landscape.

But I also think Netanyahu sold Trump a bill of goods on there being regime change. It hasn’t materialized and the regime will dig in and prevent it at all costs. I think that ship has sailed.

But none of us really know. Trump is great at projective propaganda. It’s a gift, but also a curse when the projection doesn’t materialize.

Incrementalism.
Netanyahu wanted him to keep bombing them back to the stone age the first time around. That would have just made us brutes in the eyes of most of the world.
Instead he severely damaged their military after taking out their defenses, radar and such.
Then he negotiated for a bit and spanked them when they stepped out of line.
Put a peace deal/MOU on the table with billions as a carrot and they reverted to factory settings in days. So the radars and other defenses that they were rebuilding got nailed again, plus interest.
And cut off their permission to sell oil. They can’t win for losing.

We can do this all year, they can’t.

Ps. A splendid way to use up ordnance that is approaching its pull date.

Sure, but when does it cease to be a temporary excursion and leap into forever war?
They’ve been at war with us for 47 years, so if you need to declare anything it’s already been a war.
Us calling this a war would be an insult to actual wars.

They are rapidly losing their ability to conduct any form of war

And according to Trump, the ceasefire is over. Hyperbole or reality?

Reality.
Does this look like a ceasefire to you?1783554553560.png

Trump will probably make them go back to the table and earn each new ceasefire. This isn’t the old USA that absorbed abuse and beg them to return to the ceasefire.
Then again, he may shortcut the process and do what Netanyahu is begging/demanding him to do. He has proven that he was willing to give Iran ample chances.

Looks like California fires.....

You guys are all so much more optimistic about Mr Trump than I am at this point.

Sure, I voted for the guy all three times.
He has done some good. He is obviously preferable to Harris/Biden/Hillary. He is probably even preferable to most of the other Republicans. That's not saying much.

I'm pretty sure "his war" with Iran was a massive blunder, and will not end well.

His failure to get voter reform passed is devastating. His efforts to remove illegal immigrants hasn't done much. Amy Comey Barrett is a massive disappointment.

I'm still glad sleepy Joe is gone. 😉

No matter the disappointments, this is still the best presidency of my lifetime. Eisenhower MIGHT have been close but after that I can’t think of any modern presidency that was more consequential.

Row was over turned. If nothing else good happened that was an historic accomplishment. And the court, including Barrett, has been very good. The Chevron doctrine was overturned, the 2A has been protected for a generation, there have been some major wins against the beauracracies.

The foreign policy wins have been real. Venezuela was a master stroke. Cubs is looking good. Iran, in hindsight, is going to be a world changing win. The strait was shut down for over 100 days and the price of oil didn’t get close to all time highs. That fact alone rewrites the world order. Although there is a very real political risk in the short term, the long term divideds will be large.

And we shouldn’t minimize the importance of the immigration wins. The flood across the border was stopped. That represented millions of people a year invading our country. Yes, there’s more to be done but the first rule of crisis management is to stop the bleeding. Trump did that.

It’s not all perfect. I really wish he hadn’t done Trump coin. But it has been a transformational presidency that bought us years to address the deeper problems.

And those are important years. The tail end of the boomers represents the zenith of liberalism’s power. There is going to be a significant shift rightward for the foreseeable future. History is going to look very favorably on this administration.

Thank you for the positive reminder of much of the good that has been done. 👍🏻

Zero news for this.

Any crisis generates "rally around current leader".
Iranian population can hate regime as much as they want, horewer replacing current doesn't mean new one will be better.

If I were Iranian, I would highly doubt Israeli installed government would be better than current.

Because reserves were used to replace Gulf production. Not long term solution.

And don't underestimate political damage by expensive oil. Food prices will probably rise in autumn since farmers have problems with affording fertilizer.

Youth does love socialism thanks to universities and current economy. That's won't correct easily.
