Worship in Tennessee

I had promised to post a list of songs for the July retreat about a month in advance so that those who are interested can familiarize themselves with the melodies and lyrics. It's time.

Here's the song list we're presently working from. There will undoubtedly be a few audibles at the line of scrimmage, but this is the basic play book.

All For The Glory Of You
Come Thou Fount Of Every Blessing
Dance To The King
Exodus XV
Glorious Day
Holy Love
Hope To Carry On
How He Loves
I Will Rise
In Christ Alone
Indescribable
More Love, More Power
My God Reigns
No One Like Our God
Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)
Praise The Holy Lord Above
Psalm 121
Resting Place
Revelation Song
Step x Step
That Where I Am
We Will Dance

Those that were at the Dallas retreat will remember an 'unplugged' set Saturday morning, and we will definitely run that play again! In fact, if you are coming to the retreat and want to bring an acoustic guitar, hand drum, tambourine, or shaker (the basics) or just whatever you play (flute? violin? accordion? bagpipes? other?), then you can plan on breaking it out Saturday morning for an "all jam" (aka "participatory worship", "tabernacle worship", or my personal favorite, a "whoop-dang"). I would ask only that you let me know in advance if you're planning to jump in with us so I can make whatever arrangements need to be made to accommodate everybody.

There are at least two songs on the list that I'll predict no one's ever heard of, because they were written by friends of ours and aren't commercially available. (Well, ok, if you were in Dallas you heard one of them....) I'm going to post lyrics and chords for these, together with some kind of audio track or teaching video, at our Faithmusic website. Presently I have the chord sheet for No One Like Our God (the one we played in January) up, but no video yet. The other one is Dance To The King. Those two are first priority, because just about everything else can be found online either on YouTube or on one of the lyrics/chords/tab sites if you're interested. I will, however, continue to add chord charts and instructional videos on the other songs as time permits.

Looking forward to an awesome retreat!

Lyrics to Dance To The King and No One Like Our God are up, as well as videos for All For The Glory Of You and In Christ Alone. I'll get mp3s for the first two and chord/lyric sheets for the second two up as soon as I can. That will round out the four that I think need the most advance notice. (Note: Those mp3s will be informal recordings of me alone or a small group here singing the songs. There are no commercially available recordings of those two songs.)

On rethink, I'm only going to make teaching videos on request. If you'd like me to show you how I play a song, let me know here, and I'll shoot an informal video demonstrating the fingering and post it on the website. Otherwise I'm going to skip it.

Put a bunch more songs up at the Faithmusic Worship website at BibFam 0714. I'll post one more time in a couple of days when I've put up the last four or five songs that I'm going to post. Can't wait to see you in Tennessee!

Ok, that's it! I put six more songs up and we're done; check 'em out at the link above. See you in Tennessee!

Wahoo!

I am getting so exited for this retreat. :)
Call me crazy, but I dead-headed home 2600 miles to get ready for this, a huge cost in actual expenses and loss of potential income. Too many people fail to realize the value of these retreats and the huge flipping value that is being added to this one by our own personal LIVE WORSHIP BAND!!!! These people are professional quality musicians, they are actually in the business. (Not to mention that they are a shining example of the lifestyle that we embrace.) They are coming at great personal expense to themselves and cannot be expected to do this often, so if you miss out on this one you miss out on what may be a big part of our history!!

You are way too kind, steve, but we are certainly stoked about the retreat. We are packing and loading the van and trailer now; departure time is 0400! Can't wait to see everybody!

Well I am in California right now, looking forward to flying on to Tennessee tomorrow to be with you all. It is certainly worth the expense. Good on you Steve, family and Christian fellowship are far more important than money!

I wish all of you going to the retreat the best. I pray for your safe travels. That your time be blessed and that you will be blessings to those around you. May you be filled with Spirit and bask in the glory of our Savior. Learn what you can from His Word and each other as you share your experiences. And bring that knowledge back with you for others.

My thoughts are with you.

Thanx NWR,
People are getting hit hard by the enemy in the last few days, we covet your prayers.
This is generally an indicator of how much of a threat something is to him!

NWR, we'll miss you, brother, but I know you're right where you're supposed to be, doing just what you're supposed to be doing.

Please continue to pray for Gods protection for those who are traveling and that He would be glorified in all that we do here together. We'll be praying for you and all who couldn't make this event but are with us in spirit. May God continue to join us together in unity and purpose according to his perfect plan and timing.

We are disappointed to not be able to go, but I would like to add my best wishes and prayers for a wonderful retreat that I am sure it will be.

stated at the retreat: "That was one of the best worship experiences that I have ever had!" (Ok, not an exact quote, but something to that effect. and that was just the first night.)

Bigger is not always better, but this'n is!
Hats off to the Bender crew, teaching/discussion sessions, and those semi-rowdy musicians from Texas!

We is missin the rest of y'all, but not enough to slow us down! ;)

If the praise meter only went to semi-rowdy we're gonna have to take it up a notch....
