What kind of music do you like?

You can only choose one, Three Dog Night or Neil Diamond. The Impossible Dilemna...
Depends on the mood. Diamond more melancholy. ... but, both are awesome.

I do, just depends on what artist.

Most of the music I like is rhythmically complex rock or funk. I was a drummer for a living (or a small fraction of a living) for years before I got married and needed to provide more.

Here are a few examples of music I like

Oh also I love good choir music

It seems like the choir stuff might match more of people's taste here on the board. If so check out the Westminster choir, so much good stuff!

Interesting music. I personally wouldn't necessarily call it rap. It's unique and not a negative experience.

Instead, as if traditional hymns weren't old-school enough, I've recently (at the end of last year) discovered Shape Note Singing, aka Sacred Harp music.

I did a little of this in College Chorus. I thought it was wonderful to sing.

So, @ZecAustin this is also where we mention Air Supply....

I had to smile....you just took me to High School. :p:)

As for me, I love many types of music and am even learning to like some Rap due to the 2 new teenagers in our care now. I am amazed at how many Christian Rap singers there are. I will try and find a good example and post it. I grew up mostly listening to Contemporary Christian Music. Amy Grant, Imperials, Twilla Paris, Sweet Comfort Band with Bryan Duncan, The Gaither Trio, Michael W. Smith and such. Nathan introduced me to Larry Norman. I like some jazz and some classical. Love Big Band music, and the American Songbook... Michael Buble.....Doris Day and Barbra Streisand!

I'm part Texan so I do love a good Country song but more on the popular side than old country. Love Alison Krauss and The Judds.

I have really enjoyed reading this revived thread! Music is such an important thing in our lives.

Amen to that, Julie!

@Paulsen - the dynamics behind that Westminster choir was nothing short of TOTALLY amazing!! As a musician myself (vocal and instrumental) the extreme amount of control, perfect pitch, and singing from the heart in that arrangement was astounding! The director was pretty cool also!!

I love music, but like some have alluded to, (@ZecAustin ) I don't personally feel everything recorded nowadays qualifies AS music.

My mom gave me a cross stitch project that reads "Music is love in search of a word" my music teacher described music as man organizing noise..... I think songs are composed by inspiration.....and I believe all music is praise....but what it praises then becomes the question to ask about any particular song.

Here is one I find beautiful. The name has meaning for me as I believe that Tara in Ireland was where an ancient school was established to teach people Torah.
I cannot hear this song without my heart and whole being worshiping The One who alone defines morality.

Here is another from the same family group a capella.

I like dance tunes (I mean toe tappers country/swing type, not hip hop no offence meant, like "old time rock n roll") love songs, story songs, but cannot enjoy cheating tunes since I married.
That about sums it up. My taste in music in a nutshell. Lol
