Todd, that picture of you scared me! No, not the picture itself :) , just wasn't expecting it to jump on screen! (Avatars active everyone - knock yourself out - thanks Todd.)

As for Wikipedia, don't jinx it ;) , it always could be deleted.
 
So how did you guys get such great pics that fit into avatars. My smallest pic files are in the hundreds of KB's. I even edited some and they were far too big.

What is the secret, we want avatars too.

You can use photoshop to crop the picture to the correct dimensions and also adjust the file size. I used a free program called IrfanView which you can download from http://www.download.com/ . If any of that still doesn't work or you just don't feel like doing it, email the pic you want to use and I'll create an avatar for you.
