I have seen this question come up a few times and I have just read this as a response on another thread
There seems to be an undercurrent of discordant understanding or belief on here regarding this, so I am interested in reading all viewpoints, maybe I have missed something, maybe you have missed something, maybe we have all missed something.
So...
What is YOUR understanding of The New Covenant?
I will just leave a few scriptures here to lay a foundation.
Jeremiah 31:31 KJV — Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Luke 22:20 KJV — Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
2 Corinthians 3:6 KJV — Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26 KJV — For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
Hebrews 8:8 KJV — For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
Hebrews 8:13 KJV — In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
Hebrews 9:15 KJV — And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Hebrews 12:24 KJV — And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
What new covenant?
