The journey

There are so many things to learn when you begin to live this lifestyle. This is a journey of self discovery more than anything else. Discovery of self and of our God. He is so awesome. Things I never thought I would see, he has shown me.

Before I began this journey, I didn't have a lot of trust for women or Christians. I had been burned by both and was pretty tired of things the way they were. When I began this life, there really weren't too many people left in my life to tell. Most had abandoned me along the way. The few I still had, I have still today. They love me no matter what. They may think I am a bit strange, but they love me.

I am learning a lot about how relationships work. Learning about how you don't ever leave anything to chance. Learning about how God cares for relationships. So much to learn. So much to watch. So much love.

I don't expect to ever stop learning about this. The minute I stop learning and growing is the moment that my marriage begins to fail. I cannot let that happen. Not while there is breath in me. Just like a garden. If you tend it lovingly and carefully the flowers will grow. If you ignore it it will go wild and then it will go to seed.

Learning about how you don't ever leave anything to chance.

What do you mean by that? Can you explain?

First of all I am not obsessive compulsive about anything except where my keys are, but I have found that a certain amount of planning and preparation is a good thing. If you leave stuff to chance, then in the end something gets left undone, and usually that ends up being something important. So I believe it is best to make plans for the really important stuff and let the less important stuff be the things that get left out if it becomes necessary.
