I would like to hear from those who have merged families (minor children from previous relationships merged into a new larger plural family). How have you dealt with the issues of favoritism and loyalty among the kids? How have you dealt with discipline issues as it relates to their birth mother and their new mother in a plural relationship?

We don't have a sister wife yet, but we have assured our children that she will NOT be their mom. They will respect her just like they would respect a teacher, aunt, or other authority figure, but she will not make rules, set privileges, etc. We feel that job belongs only to their "real" mom and dad.
