My daughter is interested in polygamy so she decided to try to model it using the computer game Sims 2. Apparently Sims is polygamy friendly. She succeeded in creating a family with 3 wives. However there is a limit of only 6 children to a house so she had to move out one wife so that wife could have children, too.

I am not a game enthusiast, but this has intriquing possibilities. I may have to try Sims. My grand daughter is really into playing/building her world on Sims 2. What's the difficulty level?

LoLLLLLLLLLLL. My little brothers used to be obsessed with that game, and all the times that I watched them and their friends play it, I would've never thought you could have a poly family on Sims.

Sims 2. What's the difficulty level?

I am not 100% sure, but I think it is impossible to play for anyone over about 25.

I did that way back on Sims 1, I never got sims 2. The family income goes pretty crazy since you can pretty easily get lots of family friends with a stay at home character while the others use the popularity to get high level jobs and high level skills. It gets easy to have a massive house with the best of everything.

Apparently, they've made polygamy harder in Sims 3, but it's still doable with some hacks, like the "no-jealousy" hack for the game. Much like we've "hacked" our own culture, by breaking the rules!

Some of the rules from this link are pretty funny:

"Start with a male Sim... and move him into a house on a large lot. This is important. It doesn't matter what aspiration he has or anything like that, though Family would be the obvious choice."

"If the eldest male dies before producing the correct number of male offspring, his next eldest brother may become heir, "

"No cheats related to relationship-building. You have to find all those wives fair and square."

"All male Sims on the lot who are old enough must have jobs, except elders. Females may have jobs, but it's best if you keep them home to help with the children."

"-1000 points for each child the social worker takes away."
