This is regarding polygyny. If this is edifying - feel free to copy the full thing (or parts) - and use it to correct error within the church.
Deut 17:17
A King must not take greatly multiply wives, or his heart will be led astray. He must not greatly multiply silver and gold for himself.
Clearly the Creator is saying that a king can have multiple wives - just like you can have multiple homes/cars. Just don't go overboard. What does the Word of YAH say? Let's see:
2 Samuel 5:13
After he left Hebron, David took more concubines and wives in Jerusalem, and more sons and daughters were born to him.
1 Kings 15:5
For David had done what was right in the eyes of YAHAUH and had not failed to keep any of YAHUAH’s commandments all the days of his life— except in the case of Uriah the Hittite.
The next verse below is David's sin in context, so you can see it has nothing to do with polygyny. Even if he was monogamous and did what he did - the same punishment would be the likely result:
2 Samuel 12:9-10
Why, then, have you despised the word of YAHUAH and done this horrible deed? For you have murdered Uriah the Hittite with the sword of the Ammonites and stolen his wife. Now, therefore, the sword will never depart from your house, because you despised me and took the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your own.
Once again - David's sin had nothing to do with him having multiple wives. In fact, the Creator told him if you wanted more wives of your own - I would had given them to you:
2 Samuel 12:8
I gave you your master’s house and his wives and the kingdoms of Israel and Judah. And if that had not been enough, I would have given you much, much more.
Next case:
2 Chronicles 24:2-3
Taught trained by Jehoiada the high priest, Joash (KING of Judah), did what was pleasing to YAHUAH throughout Jehoiada’s lifetime. Johoiada picked out two wives for him.
Psalm 19:7
The torah of YAHUAH is perfect, reviving the soul.
Psalm 119:172
For all of your commandments are righteous.
Psalm 119:142
Your righteousness is everlasting and your torah is truth.
Isaiah 42:21
It pleased YAHUAH for the sake of his righteousness to make his torah great and glorious.
Proverbs 28:9
If anyone turns a deaf ear to my torah, even their prayers are detestable.
Proverbs 7:2
Guard my torah as the apple of your eye.
Isaiah 8:20
To the torah and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word there is no light in them.
So which commandment was not perfect? Which commandment was not righteous? The Creator allows even non-kings to multiply wives (if done according to His Word):
Exodus 21:10
If he takes another wife, he must not reduce the food, clothing, or the martial rights of his first wife.
So just to recap once again, both King David and King Joash had multiple wives; and they did what was pleasing in the eyes of the Creator.........
But do you know what the Creator says is EVIL and Dis-pleasing? A believer that’s a woman - that sleeps around while living in her father’s house. For her to be a whore is so evil in the Creator’s eyes - that if her father is a priest - she is to be BURNED alive.
You know what else is EVIL - according to Jesus (who is the Word made Flesh) - whom many claim to love and know - homosexuals and transgenders are an ABOMINATION in his eyes. Worthy of death. You know who else is EVIL is his eyes? A wife that sleeps with another man that’s not her husband, which is the biblical definition of adultery. According to scripture - it's impossible to commit adultery with a woman that's not engaged or married to another man. So these are some of the wicked sins.
Yet some of these wicked sins are “COMMONLY PRACTICED” in Christianity. No one really gets upset about it. How is that righteous judgement? It's written that fornicators do not enter into the Kingdom - yet - Abraham, Jacob, Moses, David, and Gideon are in the Kingdom. All of them were righteous with multiple wives.
Exodus 22:16
If a man sleeps with a virgin not engaged to anyone - he MUST marry her and pay the customary bride price. (The only exception is if her father dis-allows it, and if her father says no the man is not off the hook. He still pays the customary bride price)
There is zero prohibition if he’s already married. You’re commanded to take her as your wife - “IF - you wish to practice righteousness. If you’re un-righteous (and remember Paul says that the un-righteous do not enter into the Kingdom), then you’re an un-righteous fornicator; and Scripture says that fornicators do not enter into the Kingdom.
How many Christian men have slept with more than one virgin? According to Jesus (Yahushua) - if they were righteous - they should have multiple wives.
A man can have multiple “one flesh” marriages. The torah allows it. It's not sin according to 1 John 3:4 (transgression of torah is sin). Just like buying a house is between one seller and one buyer - it doesn’t mean you can’t have a 2nd house. However, the wife is prohibited from multiplying husbands. We’re commanded to rightly divide the Word. The apostle Peter said - those that twist the scripture will go into destruction.
Turn back to the Father in Heaven and his righteous ways. He’s gracious to those that submit to him, and humble at his Word. So he can give you his Salvation for the forgiveness of your sins. Yahushua the Messiah (Jesus) is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. YAH does not change. His righteousness is an everlasting righteousness. It's easier for Heaven and Earth to pass than the smallest iota to drop from his torah (instructions). Heaven and Earth still here.
