A few years ago I stumbled upon Amade’ String Orchestra’s Symphonic Praise & Worship Album, and I have found it to be a nice bit of peaceful music to listen to during prayer and quiet time. I would love to have more choices though, but I cannot seem to find similar music. I’m curious if anyone else here has an album like this that you enjoy and would recommend.

Good morning! You've tapped me into a gold mine of good listening! Thanks so much for sharing and asking for additional beautiful options. I've certainly got some I'll share, but right now I'm teaching the Adult Alternative Education Class for high school drop outs from 9-12. I've got this music playing and loving it! The song list has some of my very special ones. :) I'll get back to you later this afternoon with suggestions I hope you will find encouraging. Blessings to you.

@aineo, so sorry it's taken this long to share a suggestion for some really edifying music which you might enjoy as background during your quiet time. The variety of instrumentation really adds to the atmosphere. I've always loved the richness of cellos and violas. There's an absolutely amazing pan flute artist on here doing things with the pan flute I've never heard anywere else. Their heart really shines through as they play. I hope you will enjoy. Blessings.

I like to listen to Celtic music that doesn't have words. Lorena McKennit is a fav of mine.
She's beautiful with a charming voice and definitely Celtic. I'd never hear of her so decided to see what I could find. "Caravanserai" is captivating. There were instruments
in her ensemble I'd never seen before, no doubt Irish or Celtic.

Thanks for sharing. I enjoy exploring different genres; however, almost all Celtic is in the minor keys so it always seems so mournful and doleful so I don't listen much to it.

So true! Most don't know music that well. I have always been a fan of minor keys for the emotion that can be conveyed although it mostly seems mournful. Still I love the heaviness of Minor Celtic Music in my prayer/worship time.

I've sure enjoyed this selection of worship--so peaceful and encouraging--very conducive to meditation, study, quiet time with Yeshua!!!

Well, I'm going to take that as confirmation of some stuff we've been praying about and moving in the direction of. Cheryl has produced two albums of solo piano worship music (one of originals, one of covers) but hasn't recorded anything new in years. (We also have a Christmas album we did together a million years ago....) We have recently acquired some new gear and are planning to produce some new stuff this summer, including instrumental orchestral arrangements of hymns and contemporary worship songs. I'll keep you posted.

@aineo, I came across this tonight and have enjoyed it immensely in my quiet time. I thought of you and hope it will be a blessing. This particular artist has done a lot of research into "the key of David" and has thought provoking and intelligent info. You might enjoy listening to and watching some of his teaching videos as well.

Thank you @rejoicinghandmaid! I’ve just listened to a minute or so right now, but this sounds like great music to play in the background. I’ll also be checking out his research and teaching videos.

My husband and I really enjoy Balmorhea! New here, not sure how to upload videos.
@Rebecca, simply copy/paste the URL link of the video you wish to share from your browser window to the BF thread to which you wish to upload the video. When you paste on your comment section of the thread, only the link address appears as you've copied/pasted it. When you click "post reply" the video itself appears. I hope this helps. :)

Hello everyone! Hope this makes it to you! At the BF retreat, I sang a song the Lord gave me called Impossible. Here is a version with my daughter singing the lead. Please share to whomever the Lord puts it on your heart to share with. I miss being with you and missed many of you I did not get to see. I was not sure where to post this. Thanks for listening! Impossible

I love hymns myself and sing and play them often. That said I appreciate music in general (at least the sort of organized sounds that I feel  qualifies as music).
This is an album of just beautiful melodies nicely arranged and with a flow and tempo more like music that is sung (if that makes sense) and by that I mean not a rigid or driving beat you might enjoy cutting a rug (dancing) to. I used to put a cassette of this album on to put our oldest two sons down for naps when they were quite young.
I listened to the whole thing cleaning in the kitchen a few days ago, and realized most of these are love songs, some are just lovely like Moonlight Sontata.
If good music is something you're thankful for....you might (like me) consider this praise of the one who created such a thing and gave us ears and a heart to enjoy it.

There are two other albums in this series, but this is the one I got at a pawn shop 23+ years ago!

In my house, the first movement of Moonlight Sonata was pretty much banned ... and whenever any of my children started to play it, regardless of where I was in the house I'd scream really loud. It was a joke of ours that continues today. :) I think I was just "O.D.'ed" on it because it seems like that's the only part that's usually played on the radio and also rearranged for easy / beginner players. It just annoys me!!!! I definitely appreciate it musically, but sparingly.

They WERE allowed, however, to play the second and third movements. Personally, the 3rd is my favorite IF done well. :) :) That's one I like to listen to full blast, and also was one we'd use for a quick tidy [let's run around the house like crazy people and see how much we can tidy before the song ends].

I'm listening to the YT video you shared ... seems like nice background music. Shabbat Shalom!
