Peace With God

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ - Romans 5:1

The phrase "peace for our time" was spoken on 30 September 1938 by British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain in his speech concerning the Munich Agreement.[1] It is primarily remembered for its ironic value. The Munich Agreement gave the Sudetenland of Czechoslovakia to Adolf Hitler in an attempt to satisfy his desire for Lebensraum ("living space") for Germany. The German occupation of the Sudetenland began on the next day, 1 October.

Less than a year after the agreement, following continued aggression from Germany and its invasion of Poland, Europe was plunged into World War II.

The idea of peace in this world is often fleeting at best. Even those times that we strive to 'keep the peace', perhaps by compromising our values, or even giving up God-given rights, we often find ourselves short-changed at best.

But peace for our time is possible; peace with God. Men's hearts are constantly troubled and weakened by the circumstances of this age. But the Word of God gives us this promise:

The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace. Psalms 29:11

The peace of God can actually strengthen our hearts, when He blesses us with His peace.

When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. Proverbs 16:7

The peace of God is such that when it permeates our lives, it makes even those that oppose us to be blessed with peace as well!

Peace with God ultimately rests in our accepting, by faith, the justification of God. Jesus died for our sins, paid that price for our justification before a righteous God. We have no worthiness in ourselves, because our righteousness is as filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6). Yet, when we are justified, by faith in that shed blood, we receive the peace of God that passes all understanding

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Phillipians 4:7

(Romans 5:1)We have been very discouraged lately has my husband and I have been dealing with some people who have done wrong to us. I’d rather not get into the details but I feel like I want to just burst everything out right here, right now. Please keep us in your prayers, people here at BF. I know when things get like this there is a breakthrough and blessings on the other side. Lord bless you.
