One upon a time

Once upon a time God made the earth and everything in it. It was a real creation with real people, and they were capable of making real mistakes. One day the man and his wife did make a real mistake and so God killed some animals to cloth and cover them and promised a real redeemer. The man and his sons after him all wrote the history of their families, and they passed this history down. Later God called certain men and revealed through them what He purposed to do in the earth in the future, and also spoke His judgments against real kings and even nations through those men. For many years everyone understood that there was one sovereign God and that He ruled His creation and ministered both blessings and curses. Then the people went to Babylon and lived among people who believed in good gods and bad gods, and that these opposing forces were locked in a great cosmic battle being waged in an unseen world.

When the appointed time came God did provide a real redeemer that taught the people and only spoke the words of God. His ministry was great, and He did many wonderful things showing people the power of God. Some of the people though, because of their exposure to the good god bad god teachings of Babylon, believed that he was really doing all these good things by the power of the bad god they called Belzebub (that was the Babylonion dung god.) This real flesh and blood man at the appointed time suffered real pain and shed real blood to reconcile God’s creation back to Him.

In a few generations the people all lost perspective and no longer realized that the history and prophecy related to the real world they lived in, and they started making up wild theories applying the words of the prophets in new ways that supported their belief in this other world, and the bad god that was rebelling against the good god. Eventually most of the people came to believe that the entire history and words of the prophets was all trying to educate men about this other world, all there to help them understand what they cannot see, and a battle that began in the time prior to what people used to believe was the beginning.

Eventually people who adhered to a real understanding of the history and prophecy were looked at as heretics, and they found it harder and harder to find people willing to consider that this belief so widely held could be wrong. The people with the literal understanding took comfort in the verses that were given by God telling them that this would happen, and also great comfort in seeing the real nations doing what He said they would do and forming alliances like He said they would. Since they could clearly see that God had declared the end from the beginning the people just anticipated the real battle that would once again make their God’s name great in all the earth and show the world that His people went into captivity for leaving His laws.

Eventually the real battle will happen and the sacrifice for the feasting of the beasts and fowls will be made. Kings and captains will be on the menu and so of course won’t be able to cause problems for the people who remain, and then once again the good people who fear God and purpose to keep His commandments will be free to serve Him without fear all the days of their life.

LOL ok ok! I may not see it the same but I promise not to do anything but celebrate if it happens just that way!
I hear you! The happy ending will be great even if it takes a turn or two we didnt see coming! :)

I feel that way about 'eternal rewards'. I don't know for what purpose I would care about being given literal crowns or if they are literal, but I have to have faith that if He intends me to be rewarded, He knows how to do so in a way that feels rewarding.
