Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ!

Did you miss us? We missed you. Once again the general busy-ness of life has interfered with our plans here at Biblical Families, and we didn’t manage to get out a newsletter in October, or do a radio show. But we are getting back in the groove, and we’ve got lots of news for you this month, so let’s get right to it:

Return of Biblical Families Radio
First up, after some unavoidable delays, Biblical Families Radio Broadcast returns this Sunday night, (11/22), 9pm EST (6pm Pacific). Plan on calling with a question or comment, see if you can play “Stump Doc”! Then again 2 weeks later (12/6). Look for a special guest during December also – we’ll send a newsletter first (and no, it’s not “Bill Hendrickson”.) On our Resource page you can listen directly. It’s possible to call in from your computer, or with a phone.

2010 Retreat Schedule
You’ve asked us to plan ahead for your scheduling, and we’ve heard you! Here is the entire retreat schedule for 2010:

Jan 1st-3rd, 2010: South Carolina mountain area We know this is coming up soon - so make plans now! We are considering this a Southeast regional retreat - but all are welcome, come start the year with some great Biblical Families from the Southeast. This will be a more relaxed, family retreat, in an outdoor setting, with cabin and camping options, and meals done together. Write soon for details: retreats@biblicalfamilies.org

March 26th-28th, 2010: Mid-west Primary retreat, Branson, MO area We are researching a location now, but the date is set! We have a fair amount of families within a few hours’ drive from here, and we expect to see all the Texans here, too.

July 9th-11th, 2010: East Coast Primary retreat, Tennessee Drivable from Michigan to Maine to Florida to Louisiana to Chicago. A campground location should make this a great Family event also.

Oct 1st-3rd, 2010: West Coast Primary retreat, Sacramento, CA area Details to be announced.

The challenge is on for the mid-westerners: can your retreat be larger than the East Coast retreat this year? We’ll see! – we expect both to be very well attended. The West Coast will clearly have some catching up to do, so we’ll give them an extra few months. This year we are making every effort to keep retreats as affordable as possible (we know that’s a concern for many). If you haven’t been to a retreat before, and want to know more about why we do this, and the benefit for you and your family, see our retreat page.

We’re sure there will be additional “regional” retreats (like the Ft Worth get-together on Thanksgiving – write for info) during the year, but those need less planning, and we’d like to encourage everyone to consider trying to make one retreat in the next year – it’ll be worth your time and effort.

If you have any question or comments about retreats, just write us.

Prayers for you and your family
We’ve noticed that a number of Biblical Families have been in a time of “transition” lately – be it with moves, jobs, relationship issues, health, and more. We want you to know that if you’ve contacted us privately, or in the forums, we’ve been praying for you. In fact, the Orlando homegroup has been trying to pray for as many by name as we can during our Monday night fellowship lately, and we encourage you to do the same at home.
If you have something you want to share, you can either post in our Prayer Request forum for all Biblical Families members to see and pray for, or email staff@biblicalfamilies.org if you need privacy, or the ladies of the Women’s ministry at femina@biblicalfamilies.org, if that’s appropriate for your situation. We want to be here for you – let us be that blessing and hold you up in prayer and however else we can.

Visited the BiblicalFamilies forums lately?
If you haven’t then you are missing out on some great discussions. Here’s a taste of some interesting topics over just the last few days:

Death of this Patriarch – an interesting discussion on providing for your family, after you are gone:

“To attend a non-Plural Marriage-accepting church, or not to attend”, that is the question (with some powerful arguments on both sides):
