My wife...

made a yellow squash casserole with onion, garlic, ....who am I kidding, I have no idea what was in it, but it was awesome. It did have cheese and some pecan halves and it was absolutely the best that I have ever had. She is doing a lot of a vegetarian type of lunch and dinner, all from the garden in interesting combos and I am loving it. She also has been making us home-made yogurt from the raw milk that she gets at the dairy and it is top notch goodness. And I see that she set the coffee maker to brew automatically so that the coffee is ready for me when I get up in the morning. And a loaf of bread in the maker for me as well. She really is great.

so what? it said off topic, didn't it?

Paul

Why you gotta brag so much, man? Some of us are lonely and wifeless.

No more bragging until I get some email addresses or something for these Georgian girls you brag about.

Better yet, overnight Fedex that poor man some of that casserole. Sounds delicious! Kudos, DeeAnn.

I think it is wonderful that PaulNTP is so complimentary of his wife. I think that all you guys who are looking could learn a thing or two.

I know this isn't the case but suppose your wife feeds you something that doesn't taste so good? Maybe you didn't care for that new combination. But your wife still put all that effort into it trying something new. She still worked very hard, trying to please you. So maybe it wasn't the best thing you ever tasted, it is still a valuable symbol of her love.

Turn it around. If you go to work and the paycheck isn't quite big enough, doesn't she still love the fact that you went out and worked all week for her so she could stay home and care for the children?

Anyway, Deann and Paul, I hope you both spend all the days of your lives appreciating each other for the love that you exhibit to each other daily.

It is inspiring.

I think that the one time in our whole marriage that she prepared something that I did not find appetizing, I ate it whole heartedly and was greatly appreciative. I did tell her and the kids that I did not care for it. I almost decided to act like it was great, but my kids needed to know that I eat and appreciate everything that is made for me, and will eat it in appreciation of my wife's effort, and the provision of the Lord for me and my family. My kids are required to eat it regardless of if they like it, and I lead by example ( I have only had to do this once in almost 10,000 meals with DeeAnn cooking). I also did not want DeeAnn to find out later that I ate it wholeheartedly without caring for it and make her wonder if I do that to her with all her meals and that I am just faking or being nice. I did not want to place a seed of doubt in her about me ever hiding things from her or not being open. I have made that mistake in my marriage before.

By the way, she also canned tomatoes yesterday, did several loads of laundry and folded it, made me albacore sandwiches for lunch, and there is always sweet tea in the fridge. I caught her tickle wrestling on our bed with the 17 month old when I took a break from work, and she also went and picked up a friend for my oldest daughter to spend time with here at our place all day.

Superwoman and Wonderwoman wear DeeAnn pajamas.

This is really embarrassing.

I think it has something to do with the fact that our 10th anniversary of being legally married is coming up next month. Or maybe he's trying to butter me up so he can have another wife.

DeeAnn

Could you post that recipe your husband was talking about? It sounds very good.

Thanks,

Michelle

You should ask her for her recipe for beef tips and parmesian rice with peas, it is delicious. Or the cube steak with garlic and crushed tomatoes on rice. If you are interested, the special that I like to make is peanut butter playdough. I don't care if it is embarrassing, I love you.

DeeAnn,

Could you send along the recipes for everything your husband posted here, but not the peanut butter playdough. :D

Thanks,
Michelle

Don't knock peanut butter playdough 'til you try it, is has been a family favorite for almost 30 years!

2 parts natural peanut butter
2 parts powdered milk
1 part raw local honey

mix it and love it.

Paul

P.S. she is a little miffed at me cause she kinda does all the stuff in her head and not from recipe cards, but I will help her get in down in written form so you can try it, it is worth it.

Thanks, DeeAnn and Paul for the recipes. I didn't know that peanut butter playdough was actually a real food. I thought you, Paul, was kidding. From the ingredients listed it sounds yummy!
I didn't know

Sorry, but this reminded me of a scripture that Paul clearly knows. :D

I Thessalonians 5:16-18 -

16Rejoice always, 17pray without ceasing, 18in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
The Holy Bible, New King James Version, (Nashville, Tennessee: Thomas Nelson, Inc.) 1982.

Be blessed,

Ray
