Modern Media

Just wondering on how other people are doing media nowadays? For us we don't have satellite, cable, or even over the air TV service. If there is a show that we want to watch we usually play it over the internet via Hulu or something like that. Even college basketball games I watch on ESPN.com.

What's everyone else's take on usage of modern media?

I am in the same boat as well. Television, video games and what not is not a major issue with me. I just could care less of owning any of those items. My parents have recently got satellite and I just feel like every program is so boring. There is nothing that interest me at all. I would like to buy books and read instead then watch a television program that would not improve my life in anyway.

we have cable at the house and when i visit i kinda o.d. and then do not miss it when i am on the road for the next 2-4 weeks. anything less than 10 books on the truck and i start feeling deprived.

hey! i just realized that i am sitting in a hotel (truck getting fixed) typing this and ah aint turned the tube on yet!
gotta go, might be missin somethin awfull important

I'm a gamer myself, and a lot of that is related to my programming background and my ability to mod video games. I also like strategy in all forms, there is a whole genera of video games that focuses on that.

I usually don't find more than one or two movies per year interesting, and don't watch TV just randomly as it comes on, though if there is a show I like I usually watch it through.

Books don't necessarily have anything over Television in terms of quality, but there is a much wider variety of books and more quality books out there if you take the time to look.
