Seems like it's another thing that will keep people rapped up into the world system even if they are trying to get off the grid. This is very disappointing to me.

Tag my chickens? Chickens are not worth much and getting them tagged probably cost's more then they are worth. I don't doubt someday you will have to put a sticker on a tomato if you eat it in the house from the garden.

Its for the greater good of course, for the health of people and animals...

I tend to agree with the commentators that its more about crushing small time farmers and ranchers to ultimately further line the pockets of large scale operations, and would add its probably about keeping people away from being able to live off the grid and provide for themselves without the govmn't as well.
