I was trying to cut apart two frozen pieces of food with a knife. In my hand. Not smart. The knide went knife through and then into my left middle finger. It didn't hurt at all. But I did need 8 stitches. It didn't hurt when they stitched it our afterward anytime must have been the adrenaline rush lol.

This question was inspired because our little girl just hurt her ankle at a trampoline park Thursday evening. Doctors are debating whether it is fractured or not, but either way it's in a splint and she has crutches.

Hmmmm I would say my dislocated tailbone is the worst....but I have dislocated and relocated my knee cap and had tendinitis in my ankle. The tailbone is the worst because it will never get better....I was rear ended 5 years ago and it fully dislocated (chiropractor said it was already out of place some from having big babies) it and the muscles contracted while the Doctors tried to figure out why I was in pain and limping. They could do surgery to fix it with a 90% chance it will work but a 98% chance that the muscles will pop it back out.......

Ouch! @RainyLondonFog I hope your little girl recovers in record time!

Kinda hard to pick a worst....when nothing was really very bad.
I once had a horse I was riding fall and knock me out. I woke up as the paramedics arrived, declined the trip to the hospital (did go see our family doctor) and really wasn't hurt....but since I DID lose consciousness, maybe I can claim brain damage now... when it's convenient??:p
Other then that, I had a broken toe (horse again) and a peice of skin on my hand was ripped once by a horseshoe nail. That got self treated with a few stiches.

I twisted my left ankle at 18 years of age ....three times in a year!
Twisted my right ankle once when I forgot to act like an old fart when pregnant and bailed over the side of the pickup about 7 months along. That was the most painful injury I can recall, and in three days I was back on my feet pain free....and walking all over town shopping with no I'll effects. I was super thankful for that because one day of crutches made my arm pits hurt as bad as my ankle! I think the pregnancy hormones helped minimize the damage. (They help other places stretch instead of tear )

Cuts and bumps happen. Thankfully God made our bodies self repairing. :)

Since others posted as I was phone typing...

Hmmmm I would say my dislocated tailbone is the worst
That does sound aweful!
I am lucky that I have not ever broken anything but just over 2 weeks ago I stepped on a nail and it drove straight up into the ball of my foot. I walked funny for about a week.
Our kids have done that too. Glad you are feeling better!

I'm wincing so much reading this thread, lol.

When I was 11 I was leading a miniature horse around a paddock at a friend's house. It got a fright and took off and I didn't let go of the rope so it pulled me over. My shoulder hit the ground first and I broke my collar bone. It's awfully painful to break because it hurts to lie down and move your arm etc and you can't really cast it or strap it much.

After Samuel and I got married I injured myself by twisting my ankle out in the garden. That night Samuel was sitting next to me on the couch and reached over to get something on the other side of me while I leaned forward at the same time. He accidentally hit me in the eye. The day after we went to church and I was limping and had a black eye, people kept asking me what had happened, "Oh, Samuel hit me, that's all." It was really rather amusing, I certainly got some interesting looks before I explained!

I'm an accident pro! In March, I cut a chunk of flesh out when I fell on an old piece of rusty angle iron. It needed 10 stiches after removing the stiches it became infected with staff! Now I have an ugly scar to impress my grandsons with LOL! IMG_20180317_161400.jpg

Oh snap!

That's like nightmare fuel for me!

Aww I'm sorry!! Dislocated things hurt so much!! I forgot until you posted this that I had dislocated my pelvic bone when I was 8 months pregnant. It hurt sooo much. But it went away after I had the baby. With the last one it came back a few months into the pregnancy but left afterwards. So sorry that it sounds like your problem is still lingering.

Haha me too, maybe this wasn't the best question for me to ask (because of the wincing..)

Lol that's a great story about Samuel!

Aww thanks Jolene! :)

Yes I don't think I get injured very much either. :)

Oh my!! I feel for all of you. It sounds so painful.
@RainyLondonFog prayers that your daughter heals quickly and without pain

@Kasandra Sypherd I hate when that happens! The shock of the actual poke is the worst for me. And the pain in the foot is the worst annoyance. I mean if I’m going to be limping I at least want a good story to go with it!! Hahaha

@JessicaP I have a girlfriend that dislocated and broke her tailbone she said the only thing that has ever helped was acupuncture. It’s still not 100% but she says it about 80%. No fun. Prayers of healing.

@Joleneakamama I feel like you and horses have a love hate relationship. Hahahaha jk

@FollowingHim2 broken collar bone!!! Ouch!!! That sounds painful!!

@Patricia C That looks painful!! Old rusty metal is the worst. Glad you are healing from all that.

Mine would have to be my only ever broken bone. My jaw, both sides, one shattered and the other split down the middle.
I was 16 and out rock climbing with my family. I ment for my hands to catch me but they didn’t and I landed on my chin. Ended up with a crazy ride on a board down 12 ft waterfalls, 7stitches and a jaw wired shut for 6 weeks. Upside is that I got to eat all the milkshakes I wanted for 6 weeks! Downside, I have terrible arthritis and when the pressure changes too quickly I can get migraines.
I remember thinking my life is over and that it was the longest 6 weeks ever. But now looking back it really wasn’t all that bad. And I got any thing I wanted to eat for a whole week after!!

Oh my gosh Littles. I think yours was the hardest for me to read! I have pretty bad TMJ so any jaw injuries are super scary to me! Do you have tmj from your injury? I hope not! I did find a good tmj specialist in Reno though. He really helped me. I am so thankful for him and his office. When I first went there in 2009 they said my tmj was the worst they had ever seen, my jaw had slid off the cartilage and was literally grinding into my ear bone. But since I went through therapy with them it's so manageable now. I only have to wear a special mouth piece at night to keep it in check. :)

@RainyLondonFog I have never been diagnosed. But pretty sure I have a mild case. Doctors all just say “Oh, you broke your jaw!? Yeah then that pain is normal. Oh, and you have arthritis! Yup, just be glad it’s not worse.”

I do have exercises that I do when it starts grinding and popping and have learned how to tell when it’s “going out”. I used to dislocate it as a party trick. Looking back I’m realizing that was definitely not the smartest thing and probably made it worse. I have used a mouth guard but the exercises keep that to a minimum.

Jaw pain is no fun for sure! So sorry that you have to deal with that at all. But, happy that you were able to find a good doctor that knew how to help you. Those are priceless.

When I was 10 or so my daddy was adding a garage on to our concrete block home. My older cousin and I were twirlling batons outside. I was on top of a row of blocks stacked 4 high, that's about 3ft from the ground, she was on the ground twirling next to me. I slipped and one foot hit the ground as the other stayed on top of the blocks. Needless to say, I don't remember much except the pain going to the hospital between my legs. And the on top of it all, I got two shots, one in each butt cheek! I couldn't sit or lie down going home.

Fast forward about 50 years....2 years ago I worked at a canvas sewing business and was cutting Velcro with a paper cutter. Yep you guessed it. The blade came down, the Velcro slipped, and the end of my thumb was barely hanging on. 59 years old and my first stitches! At least it was reattached!

Oh my gosh! Sounds so painful!!

I took my daughter for a second round of xrays yesterday. This radiologist says he doesn't think that it's broken. Her doctor called and said a growthplate fracture is possible and hard to see in x-rays but since she isn't complaining of pain and can walk around he's going to treat it as a bad sprain! I'm so thankful it went from being told it was a fracture to now a sprain! It's definitely something that I feel blessed for and am thankful. They took off her splint and she's been walking fine. I'm just encouraging her to take it easy and not be crazy just yet lol.

I think the thought of that broken jaw was one of the worst to read about too @RainyLondonFog So glad to hear your daughter's just got a sprain!

This was an interesting thread....but not as much fun as talking about deserts!

@Littles, it was a love love relationship with the horses.....which is why I kept doing things with them after, and in spite of getting hurt in the process.
Now my family is my life, and the sheep, orchard and garden help with that more then the horses.
