Thank you to all who prayed and supported us during this whole arm break surgery thing. It is far from over, but the final arm cast is off, and I can type again (barely). I still have lots of pain, and the metal plates and pegs are really creepy stuck into my arm.

Anyway, hello to all the new people, miss you to all the old friends, and I hope that we make it to the next retreat. Should be able to without a problem.

On a side note, now that I am old enough, I think I will retire. I am planning on still contracting when any old customers call for work, but most retirees do stuff on the side anyway. With our God-sustaining lifestyle (most people call it self-sustaining) we don't need a bunch of money. It is amazing what you can do with a small garden, and living within your means. So, if anyone needs help with anything, as long as I can get there, and you have somewhere for the 6 of us to sleep, we are ready to help with that barn raising, house painting, or whatever.

We are looking for an RV that we can drive around and live in when we are away from the homestead helping our brothers and sisters. If we can get one and fix it up, we can travel a little and help without needing to be accomodated.

The kids are doing well, Dee Ann is great. It is good to be back.

Paul,
It is so good to hear from you. I was happy to see DeeAnn post the other day. We have missed you guys! Can't wait to see you at Retreat, New Year's. I will be praying for that RV. What a great idea! Glad to hear everyone is doing well, especially your arm.

With hope for the future,
Julieb

hey paul,
glad that you are back
very glad that you can see some future (yeah, the sentence sounds wierd to me also, but i aint too far awake yet :D )

Thanks everyone. We hope to get to the Superbowl party again this year, so be prepared to have us show up at your house uninvited :).

And we are planning on making the next retreat in AL.

So good to see you guys back Paul! I have worried about you all and glad to know you are all doing OK. Also happy to hear your arm is healing well!

Paul, I can't wait for the superbowl fellowship, even if Dallas doesn't even have a chance now

Oh, well, we look forward to the game and fellowship no matter whose in it.

Chat with ya soon.

Dallas.....wow. How they do so little with so much talent is amazing.

The arm is healing and not healing well. I can use it to type and stuff, but can't hold a cup of coffee. Rehab started four weeks ago, only it did not because the insurance company is dragging their feet, so I have this stiff appendage that hurts sharply when it hits something or it slightly bent in normal use. God will provide.

Thanks for the replies, I feel loved and appreciated. Of course, that might stop when I start posting again. :|

Maybe you can look up what would normally be done during rehab on the internet, and then do a safer more conservative less aggressive version of the same thing on your own carefully in such a way as not to make the condition worse.... usually it is really crucial to rehab as early as safely possible with broken bones, in order to prevent losing strength, bone density and range of motion.... range of motion is considered to be lost the fastest, although such claims I find questionable considering the units are different.

I do not know what the surgery is for, so.... what I said could be totally wrong.
