• Biblical Families is not a dating website. It is a forum to discuss issues relating to marriage and the Bible, and to offer guidance and support, not to find a wife. Click here for more information.

I submit to you: Polygynousexual

Lol! As opposed to what? Multiple concurrent wives in a non-loving family? Isn't it all polygyny no matter how you spin it?

Technically, it would still be polygyny without love. Loveless marriage is still marriage, after all, but as I am actively coining this term, I am also providing the proper definition.

Loveless or ungodly variants can be defined by people who wish to express themselves in loveless or ungodly ways.

Besides, I didn't want to define it as "Classical Biblical Patriarch with more than one wife, who loves God, but has flaws, makes mistakes, and gives the rest of us hope through their innately human failings".

Though... I guess it could be defined that way.

Ohhhh. I thought you'd read this somewhere else and were telling us about it.

I think it's too confusing. We don't need it. Once you start throwing God in there you'll upset all sorts of people anyway.

Where are you intending on using this term? In what sort of conversation? I think that if you can't have a decent conversation with someone and use the term polygyny, but have to use some sort of made up silliness, then maybe they're not the sort of people you should be trying to convince.

You don't need to be all logical and sensible about it!

Besides, it is a differentiation from polygynous in that it is a "sexual orientation" (those are all the rage right now, right?) and as such one does not need to actually practice in order to be oriented thus.

For me it is useful insofar as I am keen on this kind of life, but do not actually practice it and am not actually a polygynist.

To be honest, this whole idea of wanting a label that applies to you seems overly narcissistic to me. Everyone wants to be 'special'. I'd rather ignore this fad than jump on the crazy train.
