How can we appreciate the light...

... if we have never known darkness?

I hope I don't come across as irritating. I'll try a bit to explain why I'm doing what I'm doing.

I used to live in darkness, fact the dark side is still in me. Sure, I have a cursory but vague knowledge of the Bible, tries to follow the 10 commandments, and have been baptised twice in Christian churches but, in the end, I only rely on myself. Ever heard of 'Invictus?" I love that poem, especially the "head is bloody but unbowed" part. That's basically the principle I followed since high school. I never understood how it is an atheist poem until recently. No wonder my life was rough sailing all the way until God took pity on me and guided me to His truth.

Polygyny is like that tiny crack of light in the wall. Giving a hint of what's on the other side. When I chipped and pried. I see a lot more light.

I now know that polygyny is allowed and a valid form of marriage according to the Bible but it's just a small, albeit crucial, part of God's truth. So I'm not rushing to get a second wife, although wisdom and guidance regarding it is part of my prayers. I want to make sure that I understood the whole word of God as He intends me to for every step that I take. I want to discern what His purpose for me is. Why this particular time in my life.

That's the reason for all the questions which seems very basic to mature Christians. I want to make sure that I only follow His will, not to masquerade my will as His will. To clear the doubts.

Thanks for understanding, everybody. :)

Just found this.

I sure can understand where you are coming from, pebble.

Do immerse yourself and your family in God's Word with prayer for guidance. That is absolutely fundamental. Isa. 8:20; John 17:17; 2 Tim. 3:16-17, Matt. 4:4, etc.

Will be praying for you & yours.

Thank you sirs.

Been doing that, sola scriptura and everything.

Our heavenly Father’s timing is always spot on, so rejoice, give thanks and accept that He knows the way you take

How true. I somehow wandered into biblical prophecies and the Book of Revelations last November of 2013 and was dumbfounded that the second coming is quite near. At least nearer than it was in 1948.

We can say that my "enlightenment" is just in the nick of time. :D

Thank you for the prayers. I sure could use a lot of help. :)
