Been a little while. Many need much reproof on this topic. Another website i found with some pretty good edification on this topic is righteouswarriors.com

I am not endorsing everything on the site or any possible falsehood just found some of the points edifying the site makes.

Do you know who runs this site? It looks like it is registered by a little ISP called GKG Net out of Bryan, Texas. not far from me, but I could not locate an associated name.

We bumped as well into that site about the same time we discovered the BF site. We found it to be very good for starting our thought process on what the Bible teaches on marriage etc. Helped us a lot.
I think I mentioned that site in our introduction as well. Well worth to pay a visit.

I used one of their claims regarding I Cor 7:2, and got push-back from jesusplusnothing.com, that I did not know how to refute. The anti-poly folks out there love to use this verse, but fail to realize that, in the context, Paul is not contrasting monogamy with polygamy, but rather celibacy with marriage. That is the approach I use nowadays to refute the I Cor 7:2 so-called proof. If I knew how to refute the argument made by jesusplusnothing, that those two Greek words have more to do with gender than with exclusivity, I would love to use that argument, because it is somewhat of a slam dunk case for polygyny.

There are other proofs about that verse, discussed on this forum elsewhere.

For example, the early church fathers not only did not condemn polygamy, they said that neither Christ nor the Apostles did; and specifically cited 1 Cor 7:2 as Paul commanding polygamy (i.e. better to take a second wife than to burn). In other words, the native speakers of the language do not agree with their take. You could call them biased; except their cultural bias was against polygamy.

The other big one is that if 1 Cor 7:2 prohibits polygamy, this would put Paul in contradiction to both Christ (who never prohibited it) and God (who taught us what is sin and not via the OT; which did not prohibit it but regulated it to prevent excesses, unjust situations, or sinful pairings).

I would love to see the reference on where the early Church fathers say that neither Christ nor the Apostles condemned polygamy. That'd be great to have in my toolbox.

Clement of Alexandria acknowledges Poly

John Chrysostom acknowledges Poly.

Clement and Chrysostom both stated that. I believe Augustine said something similar; to the effect that is was not sinful but also not moral for them in their culture. Even more importantly, the father of Latin theology Tertullian in his treatise advocating against plural marriage (On Monogamy) acknowledged this as well; but said that monogamy was a new revelation from the Spirit.

Yes you read that right, the Catholics got their anti-polygamy stance from an extra-biblical, later-day revelation type. Seems more Charismatic than Catholic; so much for the traditions of the apostles. But it jived with their Greek bias so no surprise there.

All those quotes should be found in the above linked threads.
