I am a long time member who is returning after a self imposed exile with a name change. I thought since there was suddenly a new name talking with a familiar voice that I owed you at least a heads up. The point of the exile was an attempt to change the tone some of my conversations had descended in to and hopefully hit the reset button on some of the relationships.

So welcome to the new me! I’m a lot like the old me but much less likely to try and fix stupid. I refuse to admit that stupid can’t be fixed but I resignedly accept that it can’t be fixed in this setting.

Since I am reintroducing myself I may as well go whole hog. My wife ( @windblown ) and I are Torah keepers who are attempting to conform our lives to God’s Commands. This was not always our goals in life and while we bear some scars from past disobedience we are constantly humbled and amazed at the incredible mercies of our God and the blessings He has poured out on us. Our family is blended but between the two of us we have 14 children and one grandchild. Not all of the relationships are whole but we look forward to the day they will be.

An extension of having so many children is a desire to raise them separate from the corrupt and corrupting world we live in. Our goal as a family is to live in a set apart enclave where we can strive to obey God apart from all other influences and surrounded by other believers.

To that end we are interested in simple living, self sufficiency and radical, damn near anarchistic, politics. No king but King Jesus!

Those are the broad outlines. Everything else fits inside one of those over arching themes. I look forward to being a part of the community again. I’ve missed you all!

Hi and welcome (back). I've been told, there is no antidote for stupid. And if anecdotal evidence is anything to go by, stupid is multiplying in this wicked world. Cheers

Awesome news!
Great re-intro too! :)

Sure hope we can all make the summer retreat. It would be so neat to meet you and your family.

You were missed!

Shalom and welcome (back) dear brother. I've missed you and look forward to seeing/hearing how you've grown on your sabbatical.

Welcome back
You where missed
Don’t try to be something your not, just be the best version of you there is
When I find an overwhelming desire to fix stupid
I have my own personal supply that is fixable
The only tool I need to find it is a mirror

If duct tape won’t fix it you can at least muffle the sound a little bit. ;)
Disclaimer: It is not the official policy of this ministry to tie up stupid people with duct tape. That would be illegal. So anybody promoting tying people up with duct tape will be tied up with duct tape and flogged. o_O

Welcome back @The Revolting Man, it's great to have you round again!

Ahhh... this reminds me.... lol.

Several years ago, we were hosting a patriarchal family with a passal of late teen boys who grew weary of my rambunctious youngest (then, 13/14 year old) son. Well, late in the night after Shabbat, the aspiring patriarchs came in the house snickering with no young gun on their tail, so I ambled outside to investigate....

Seems they had taped his mouth shut, wrapped him in duct tape, stood him on a five gallon bucket against a lighted utility pole then firmly wrapped him to the pole. After that, they kicked the bucket out from under him. He was suspended and helplessly out of everyone's hair.

I took copious pictures and video before cutting him down. We still laugh at that event...

My oldest daughter will enjoy that story :)
