Fema asking for preachers?

I was talking to a pastor of another church, at a brunch for all the pastors in the town. When he was telling me how I could get paid by the government. He told me FEMA needed clergy here just in case if we ever have a wide spread problem and marshall law was declaired. I was told that I would help in disarming, helping people get vaccinations, as well as convince them to go to more adiquite shelters. Come to find out that's what the meeting was about. After the meeting another pastor asked me if I was "on board". I told him that I don't believe it is my job to take peoples liberties that I my self would not give up. I also told him that I believe that would make me a puppet for the gov and not for Christ!

I left the meeting wandering how many pastors are really ok with this? Aparently a lot over 10thousand! It's gets me wandering why these pastors are backing this up? Is it for the money, the props, misunderstanding Romans, or what? (Render unto cesar and so forth). One pastor told me "Hey if you join, your church would be more excepted." It didn't bother me before that we aren't, did they think it bothered me know? I mean what does every else think on this? Google "FEMA and Clergy" if you need more insight. I think this a real low blow to America.

I am neither shocked nor surprised. I've read the last chapter of The Book and know how it ends. There was a beginning and there WILL be an end. This fits what has been done in other countries and other times. BTW, I also will not be cooperating in such a program.

At least I am not the only one! I think I am braver for following The word of the Lord! Most say it is a coward move. They tried to say it was unAmerican not to help FEMA. Why? I served the military stayed 2years in Iraq. I came home to nothing. No home, my ex-wife moved another man in with her. Yet I was still saying I was happy to serve and would do it again! How am I unamerican again? I even helped make this commercial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTQfp-fDkTM so people can understand what a Vet really feels! I am not unamerican, those trying to take away peoples liberties an :!: d rights are the ones who are unamerican! I hope any one who is aproached on this matter realises this. I would rather do right by my God and get my riches in heaven, then to get 40grand a year sending people to hell!

Amen and Amen! Have you ever been to the Alamo? I have been there twice and I felt I was on sacred ground because of the courage of that motley crew of brave patriots. Men who believed in their cause and proved it by laying down their lives for that which they held dear. As I walked through the chapel and the surronding grounds, I saw people, particularly in the chapel behaving in such an irreverent manner, that I wanted to haul them out and bar the door for their disrespect. As I enter the chapel, I remove my hat and speak in hushed respectful tones. I also want to haul away these "pastors" that participate with FEMA and the liberal, so called believers that support such an act. I am glad that we know the "Captain of the Lord's host!"

(When I first saw this topic I though "Fema" was short for "female", rather than FEMA ;) )

This is a potentially controversial issue, guys, but one which has been on my own "hot list" ever since I first saw the "Clergy Response Team" news several years back.

Bottom line is that it is all about "Who we serve" - and whether that is YHVH or Caesar. I contend that licensed ministers of licensed "churches" incorporated by Caesar, and in accord with Caesar's 'law', by contract TO Caesar, should be very clear about who they serve. Sounds like those 10,000 "pastors" know exactly where their "bread is buttered", and who the 'creator' of their corporate entity really is.

You could even say, "they have their reward".

Blessings,
Mark

I agree with you Mark! Hey 40grand a year would help alot plus community exceptance of the churches would be awsome. At the same time though you have sold your soul when agreeing to do this. I do not serve cesar. I serve Christ and I am standing up for what's right(For once in my life)! Ever since I started preaching again Christ has given me this since of responsibility I have never felt before! :D

RevGil, first off I want to caution you to be careful. These groups have a way of 'dealing' with guys like you who don't toe the line. I'm not saying you shouldn't speak out or speak up, but just be careful who you're dealing with and watch your back.

That said, this sort of thing has been going on for years. I read several documents years ago dealing with this, and it's fairly disturbing. I can send you a few articles if you're interested.

It's an insidious idea really, the idea of taking some of our most easily trusted people and convincing them that it's their American duty to disarm us, forcibly medicate us, and potentially even usher us into the inevitable FEMA camps. How many people will argue with their pastor? These are our spiritual leaders, the ones we lean upon to lead us down God's path. When those same leaders are incorrectly using Romans 13 against us, and telling us that we are essentially to lay down and give up our God given liberty, who are we to argue, right?

I used to be a gang member and am no stranger to a jail cell. I have changed my life and many members know my stance on this subject. I have never towed the line so to speak. I am serving the Lord now, no weapon formed against me shall prosper! It says in the bible that we will suffer in the the end times. If it is so then it is so. I would rather die on my feet, standing for what I believe, then to be lieing down like a coward for some thing I don't ya know? I do not worry about waching my back, trust and believe this Rev is not afraid. I have faith in God that HIS will be done!

I guess my point was more to be careful in certain situations. There are times to stand your ground, and ways to do it without getting yourself taken down over some things. I'm not saying hide your principles to save your hide, just sometimes it's better to not speak and walk away to fight a more worthy battle, kwim?

Or you could end up like this guy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVMZUgmrJrk

i've heard of this, they will have training and the big one will be that those involved will not be able to teach the gospel while "helping" in a crisis

That's where living the gospel becomes more important than speaking it.

Oh man getting Tazed is that all? Really I do that for fun. A tazer is 500,000 volts, I have been hit with them numerous times Now 800,000 volts hurts but you get this awsome feelin, lol. Just to show ya I ain't playn http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhRocMPBIY8 . I believe even when they can't preach I still can! That's my point, I won't quit preaching in a church or on the street. Do you realise people are put to death in some countries for being Christian? You are either on the side of God or man. The bible says that! I was on the side of the world for a good while untill on new years eve when people reminded that I was still a minister and had a church with people ready for me to lead. They told e to be a fool in the eyes of God or be a fool in the eyes of man.
