Two days ago, I posted on a group of Christian Single Moms about their thoughts of multiple wives. They are still going strong. I was attacked by a few. Some stayed neutral while others argued with each other. One outright said that she had a right to judge me and that this was a sin. I just love how they throw in the verse of one woman and one man. (Sarcasm) Please do better then that. I basically said that all that I am hearing are opinions but no iron clad scripture given to me. I constantly reminded them of the scripture in Chronicles and also I mentioned that the 12 tribes of Israel was formed with more then one wife. I can see that some women are thinking about it. One even accused me that this was outright Mormonism and I kindly told her that Mormonism was not in past biblical times. No more response from her. My end responses are that divorce is mentioned and homosexuality but not about multiple wives. It's getting interesting

Excellent. Keep spreading the word. When you point out how many of the heroes of the faith, in Hebrews Chapter 11, had multiple wives, people struggle to answer. And especially when you point out that, according to 1 Cor. 6:9, adulterers won't inherit the kingdom of God.

I would assume, the normal stages of a traumatic experience would take place.

1. Denial - they would have trouble with the topic
2. Anger - they can’t win the discussion through logic, and since anger is used quite often for control, then they would use anger
3. Bargaining - that would be the ‘Well I would never’ stage
4. Depression - I’m not sure how that would show up. But, I would think they would start getting quiet as they don’t have any good argument
5. Acceptance - what level of acceptance is anyone’s guess.

Our politicians use these techniques on us all the time. It works. But you have to be willing to go thru some rough discussions in the beginning.

Yes, I did see all the above on the commenters. Especially the one who showed intense anger and tried to control the conversation through her telling me that she had a right to judge me. She also tried to convince other ladies as well but I could tell that other women who disagreed with me did jump to my aid and told her that she was condemning and wasn't acting as a Christian. As I said, it has been interesting. I have enjoyed reading all their responses and no one has been able to back me up against a wall.

Heck yes sister! Way to go! Wooooooo!!!

Women are the best promoters of this lifestyle I think. Cuz people cannot wrap their mind around a gal being not only willing, but excited to share her husband.

Blessings to you! Keep fighting for TRUTH and standing on what God’s Word actually says!

Thank you! I agree! They cannot wrap their mind around it and some were completely shocked that I as a woman would even bring up the subject. Blessings to you as well.

I just received another comment and the lady told me that we always need to go by the bible and it says only one wife and one man. I told her that I agree that we always need to go by the bible and that she needs read it and do her research because that is not what it says. This is exhausting!

It is this and more. For example, Dr. Helen Smith has gotten traction talking about the ways our society treats men unjustly whereas men who bring this up are universally dismissed. Our society does not see the male viewpoint as equally valid. So yes, women will be our best advocates.

Yes, the thought that keeps going through my mind is that through me approaching this subject on this site with a large group of women, it will cause them to do their research and realize that this can be a possibility to enter plural marriage.

Or, at least not condemn and ostracize those who do.

Check out Isaiah 14:1. Re a response to the leave and cleave/join = only one man and woman.

For the Lord will have mercy on Jacob . . . . And the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.

It’s not just Jacob that they cleave to, but the family of Jacob as well.

Continuing with what @Verifyveritas76 has said...

Gen 2:24 "shall cleave H1692 unto his wife", is also found in 1Ki 11:2 referring to Solomon's many wives; "Solomon clave H1692 unto these in love".

Also, "two shall become one flesh" cannot preclude polygyny, because if "one flesh" applies to a prostitute (1Co6:16), a man can certainly be "one flesh" with each of his wives.
