Escaping polygamy! ?

Some groups do polygyny in a very unreasonable manner.
I have not seen this show, what was it that you disliked?
 
Ya. I know. And they should be helped. But I just can't help but think with a title like that. It's just another attempt to put mud on poly altogether.

Yes, all poly gets lumped together. "Everyone knows" that it is bad.

The enemy of our souls hates it and fears it. He has done a masterful job of selling the idea that it is wrong, not for today. I am convinced that he annoints groups and individuals who will do the concept damage to embrace it. Draws the nut jobs into it in order to discredit it.

Look in the mirror, kids.
Have you been drawn into this truth to advance it or discredit it?

I have watched one episode of the "Escaping Polygamy" and would like to know have any of you guys watched it? It talks about these three girls who have escaped out of a Mormon cult. One of the young girls was being pressured to marry an older cousin. I did not know this type of behavior existed in Utah by the Mormons on such a significant scale. Would like people's thoughts.

Yeah, in some groups polygyny gets perverted pretty badly. You actually need a ridiculous number of wives to hold some of the offices.

Please notice that I am not identifying any group by name.
 
If you have seen Polygamy USA on National Geographic Channel you would have seen that the FLDS has a bad rep even among other fundementalists Mormon groups. They do bad stuff that deserves the cult label. Unfortunately the general public has little knowledge of the nuances and all polygamists, even non-Mormons get lumped in with the bad apples. Part of the education hurdle that we have to face.
