Do any men on here have families of 40 or more children?

Do any men on here have 40 or more children.

I would imagine if you have 8 to 20 children with each wife, once you start having 2 or more wives, you might have families of 40 or more children.

How does one provide good spiritual and physical care for a family of 40 or more children?

With the assistance of his HELP MEETs! The same way God in all His glory takes such good care of us!

But, I would like to know the answer to your questions of the children....WOW! What a beautiful thing that is, if anyone on here has 40+!

I would like to respond to this but my brain is screaming. Why would you want 40 kids? How could you ever take them anywhere or spend any quality time with even 1/2 of them...but never mind....I guess the moms would just say...."Oh your dad...well he'll be around sometime soon, he has a lot of other families to take care of and you'll just have to wait your turn...maybe in a couple of weeks...."

It's the ultimate excuse for us to preach and lecture, which seems to be our default mode of communicating, right? How else are we going to address 41 kids and (of course) 7 wives? :o

I love kids...40+? Wow! But I have only 2.

I know a monogamist who has 9 children and one "in the oven," all by his one-and-only woman.

This is the guy who, after allegedly reading my dissertation, made the comment (about polygyny), "It's not God's best." He is also one of the members of the Council of Elders who decided, based on my belief in Biblical Marriage, that I can't teach in the church, but I'm welcome to attend.

If he would take my position on Biblical Marriage to heart rather than rejecting it as he did, he'd need only 3 more women to become the proud daddy of 40 kids... ...and since he is a very successful businessman, he would have no problem supporting them.

Maybe we should have a contest. First Biblical Families forum member to have 40 kids wins something. (Enough softball equipment for 4 teams? Or maybe 5 teams - he would probably have 10 or more wives! :D )

Many (like, really a lot) :o of moons ago I attended Oberlin College in Ohio, which was started by 19th century revivalist Charles Finney and had at one time been on fire for missions, especially to China.

My roomate was 2nd generation Chinese, and her father was one of 42 kids. Back in the day I was a flaming feminist, so I didn't EVEN want to "go there." Now I wish I had and asked her more about his life and sibs, instead of just saying the '70s version of "Ewwwwwww...."
