Biblical or not

The sin isn’t in thinking someone is hot, it’s the conspiring in one’s mind to steal or take by some illicit means what belongs to someone else.
I'm not so sure. Job says in chapter 31 that he made a covenant with his eyes that he wouldn't even look/think about a maid (virgin). I just strong s these to make sure I remembered them right. He isn't talking about a married woman. He is talking about lusting/pondering/thinking about an unmarried woman. And the word translated to lust or look depending on the translation are kind of synonymous best i remember in Hebrew. Lusting in Hebrew carries the idea of thinking on/pondering/to feel/to gaze on

I'm not saying it's wrong to think a girl is hot at all. But when that thought becomes consuming, I think you are crossing the line. Unless she is your wife of course. I'm that case, don't lose that first love baby!

In the end Job came to understand his self righteousness, he may have come to a different idea in the end, if I read it correctly.

Don’t forget to look at the context. Job is justifying himself right before God gives him the smack down.

This portion of Job isn’t given as a prescriptive text, but as a descriptive text. Job was just doing it, but it doesn’t say that God told him to.

Also, later in Job it seems like he took another wife. He had 10 grown children, they all died, then later God gave him more. From the same woman? I’m not so sure... and his new were the best looking in the land... I’m thinking they were from a different woman... or women...

I wonder how the ladies on this site would respond to this.
My response as a lady on this site:
4 pages of men discussing the word 'hot'? Yip, that's BF for you!

Honestly, I do not care if anyone thinks I'm hot, or says I'm hot, or if Samuel started talking to me because I'm hot, or if he starts talking to another woman because she's hot. God put beauty in the world, and we should appreciate it. I can also look at a guy and say he's hot, because God made him attractive. This goes both ways. I in no way whatsoever want to leave Samuel for him. It's just a word describing something.

@Soldier's Psalm are you ever planning to have a second? Cause if you are you’re probably gonna have to look at a maid
Haha that's true. But we all have the discernment to know when we have crossed the line into lust. Lust is what will get you yoked to that woman you should have stayed away from. No doubt it will blind your senses. I think it's safe to say things like Jezebel spirits operate under the cover of lust.

1 John 2:16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.

2 of the big 3 here involve Lust.

Again I'm not saying it's wrong too look, just don't cross the line.

And to clarify the line is when you start entertaining thoughts you obviously know you shouldnt.

Ok, define the difference between looking and lust. By the way “lust” in the Bible can be good or bad depending on the object of it. Lust for an available single woman, good, lust for someone else’s woman, BAD.

Bro I strongly disagree here. Because what is commonly taught about this is adding to scripture. The “thoughts” that are forbidden is the desire to unlawfully possess. Ie coveting. Breaking the 10th commandment. Desiring her is not sinful. Desiring to steal her from her rightful owner is the sin. That’s it full stop anything more than that taught as though it’s a right and wrong issue is adding to scripture.

This is anything but obvious to most men due to the extreme amount of adding to scripture about this subject that has taken place within the church.
