Angry anti Polygyny folks

One was a man that just wanted to argue and another a women. I'm still winning the "conversion" game. Is anyone finding single women easier to "convert"than any other group? And I mean Judeo/Christian women. Fish in an barrell here lately....
 
We could make this a list of crazy responses we've gotten.
The stupidest reasons I've heard from people are:

"A man cannot serve two masters."
"God gave us a conscience to tell us what's right and wrong, and since mine tells me it's wrong it must be so."
"I feel a 'check' in my spirit and the Holy Spirit is telling me this is wrong and not to research it."

All delivered in-amongst some pretty decent rants I might add.

Oh! And apparently the only reason Samuel and I think that PM is biblical is because I had a relationship before I met Samuel and therefore I feel guilty about that and it's messed with my head or something, and makes me think that multiple relationships of any form are OK.... Righteo then.

People are irrational. You just cannot have a decent conversation with them. You could tell them the sky is blue and they would swear that it's green. The problem is that they're unknowingly wearing sunglasses that show the sky as green, and it doesn't matter if you tell them they're wearing sunglasses, they won't believe you. They need God to take their glasses off first, otherwise any conversation we have with them comes from the wrong starting place, and we can't go anywhere from there.
 
This all just shows you how effective the brain washing (dirtying) techniques have been. No different from what happened with the multitudes. They were brain washed enough to be convinced to scream, "Crucify Him, crucify Him." Take comfort; they hated Him for doing nothing wrong, they'll hate us just the same. Shalom.

A good possibility is that you touched on their idols. Idolatry causes its followers to totally lose it when something threatens their idol. I have found that polygamy touches on most people's idols in this culture. Respect and control being the biggest.

I hope and pray to the father that your experience improves.

One arguement that was argued a lot was polygyny was only used when necessary. Just shear desperation....um...no...I explain that David just wanted wives and there was no despair. I dont understand this whole "last resort" concept and it was paired with the whole "ideal marriage" concept. Why cant people just understand what is ideal for one family may not be for another. Frankly, every day our proposed arrangement seems more ideal even with the rocky times lately. Also as far as ideal (I tried to stress this to the man) what is so ideal about having so many believing women single looking for mr. Single perfect guy? What we have now is far from "ideal". What is so bad about polygyny being a solution anyway? This same person favored every problem possible over polygyny as a solution. Geeezzzz oy!
