A dream I had.

I was flying around looking for this Pop star to tell her about Jesus. I caught up with her and was showing her that I could fly (I guess to convince her God was real?) But some demons came by and wrecked shop and she was dragged away before I could share the Gospel with her. I asked the Holy Spirit to lead me to her, and yellow arrows appeared on the walls leading to a huge professional building foyer where this fat demon was flying around. I had the perception that she was somewhere in the foyer hiding from him, but I didn't see her for the rest of the dream. I began to order the demon away in the name of Jesus, but it didn't work, and he began taunting and threatening me. I noticed he was wearing a golden circlet on his head that I don't recall seeing before. He seemed immune to repetitive rebuking and kept getting closer to me. Without thinking, I opened my mouth and said:

"I remit her sins by the blood of Jesus, by the blood of the Lamb"

The demon pulled up short and said something like "Oh, well then I have no choice...but how long do you think she can keep from sinning?

He reached out to give me what I thought was a sporting handshake, and I took his clawed hand (once again without thinking). When I realized what I was doing I pulled my hand back. I realized then that he had taken off the gold circlet and I felt something in my hands. I looked down and saw he had given it to me, but now it was only a broken pair of sunglasses.

How long can pop stars keep from sinning? Not very long I'd wager...

Maybe being chased by a demon will extend that a bit, but none is righteous on their own!

Replace the term "pop stars" with anyone and we agree completely.

How long can anyone keep from sinning? Not very long I'd wager. (Romans 3:9-31)

Fun fact: At the beginning of the dream it was totally Taylor Swift. She became sort of generic after the first scene.

Untoldglory: Yeah that was the impression I was left with. It was as if the demon essentially told me that I may have won the battle but was destined to lose the war.

Wesely: Heard that!

The meaning that I took away from it was that some demons have ummm... the right to torment certain people based on their unforgiven sins. We can stand in the gap for them on that score based on John 20:23, but even that is a temporary fix unless the person accepts Christ. Even further, a person must strive to live in and put on the righteousness and holiness of Christ or risk being in bondage yet again. (Ephesians 4:24-32)

I think that's in part why feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace are part of our armaments. Not even the most sophisticated spiritual warfare tactics are of any real use unless the gospel is going out.

Not that I know anything about sophisticated warfare. Unless blind-firing the name of Jesus into every every avenue I'm suspicious about counts.

I can see that. We can be like EMS personnel, respond and stabilize, but we aren't the doctor, the healer, the one to really fix the problem.

I talked to my dad about this dream. He is not an expert but did do some research on it a few years ago.

First he said to pay attention to colors, numbers, materials (iron, brass, wood, etc.), animals and even insects. They can all have meanings.

Second he said that flying can usually represent having a ministry.

The next thing that really concerned him was the almost-handshake. Bringing to mind that Satan and his demons are liars and the "right hand of friendship" to a demon was cautionary to say the least.

Last he suggested to look at Barbie Breathitt who has many books on dream interpretation. He also mentioned John Paul Jackson.

Christ spoke of this...

The Apostle Matthew quoted Christ when he said:
Matthew 12:43-45 NIV
43 “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. 45 Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.”(Also in Luke 11:24-26)

We can drive out demons all day long but as long as the person keeps welcoming them back they're not going to get any better. I learned that the hard way with some people who were very important to me.
