A Bit About Me

Hi everyone!

I'm Jenna, 19, female, from California. I'm Christian by faith though finding my beliefs don't fit in establishment churches very often.

I found the forum because of a journey I've been on to discover my purpose and place in the world. I was raised by a single mom, and while I have so much love and respect for my mom, I also see how it wasn't ideal to not have a stronger home with more traditional gender roles. In my search, I was fortunate enough to have a mentor who explained a lot of things from a Biblical perspective about family, marriage, and the roles of men and women - and that polygyny was a part of that which is how I ended up here. I also am a fan of MeganC's blog (hi Megan!)

I do work for now, as a receptionist, and in my spare time enjoy cooking, exercising, reading and so on. I'm pretty simple and old fashioned by nature. I'm looking forward to learning from you all and getting to know you better.

Welcome! Where about are you from in California? I’m originally from California, myself, though I don’t proclaim that too often these days lol.

Welcome! I lived in the San Diego area for 4 years and in the San Bernadino desert area for 1, I hated it (mostly) but one of the best churches I've ever been apart of was in SoCal.

Welcome!

Unlike the popular folk, I never lived in California.

Having dated several Cali girls and married one, i can attest to the fact that the Beach Boys where on to something.

@TradMiss, on a side note, oddly enough, your life story is very similar/almost identical to another California girl I know. What are the odds?

Hi Jenna. Welcome.

Welcome!

Me neither, but my paternal grandmother and one of my uncles went to live there.

Shalom, welcome.

Welcome.

Unlike the supposedly-unpopular @steve who is still considerably more popular than I am, I went to Kindergarten at the now defunct Doyle School in Cupertino. Does that give me any California cred?

Welcome to Biblical Families.

I spent a week in California once. Does that count?
Loved the trees, loved the oranges, hated Sea World, thought the motorways were absolutely insane, and had some lovely service from people but forgot to tip - because we don't do that here.
That's about the extent of our trip.

Edited to add, tried to drive into a naval base in the middle of the desert because the GPS said to, and got our passports taken off us by a very grumpy military dude. That was fun...

Lol, a naval base in the middle of the California desert would be Miramar. That “grumpy military dude” was most likely a Marine.

Co

Could've also been 29 Palms, also would've been a grumpy Marine lol
I thought that but the Stumps doesn’t have the word “Naval” in it. I think Miramar used to be called the Miramar Naval Air Station if I recall correctly.
