The economics of polygyny

Biblical families, can anyone attest to the profound economic ability of polygyny? Having a second or third woman in the family is theoretically a financial master plan to success but has anyone experienced this? please elaborate.
 
Not in my experience.
 
Usually the man needs to be debt free to be appealing to a second.
 
I am not talking about the short-sighted aspect of debt but that could very well play into that.

Receiving new person in household doesn't automatically mean income will rise faster than costs. So no.
 
It bothers me greatly when guys focus on the positive economic aspects that are possible in polygyny.
It’s not even a good reason for marrying your first wife. Life happens and a man was maybe better off financially if he had stayed single.

But there are better reasons for marrying and sometimes finances work out unexpectedly for the better.
